You must prep projects before applying most paints
I’m a professional furniture refinisher and milk paint is my favorite type of paint to use. Real Milk Paint brand is my go to for most projects. As with any furniture painting project, you have to properly prep a piece to get the best outcome. Many purchase milk paint to achieve that chippy look but it’s also quite easy to get it to adhere without the chipping. It’s all about the prep! With most paints, you have to pair it with a good finish, such as, tung or hemp oil. Both products Real Milk Paint Co has that are equally wonderful. I can’t stand when a good company receives a poor rating due to the person’s own faults and ignorance which prompted my review.

Aladdin Approves!
This paint should be called Arabian NightS, “like Arabian Days more often than not are hotter than hot” but I digress. I guess Disney has the copyright on the plural, so Arabian Night it is. I’ve painted several different pieces of furniture with this paint, and I’ve always been happy with it. Realmilkpaint.com describes it having subtle blue undertones, but I don’t see it - I’m just an amateur after all. I top-coat the pieces with the environmentally friendly version of lacquer, safecoat’s acrylacq, and it reads very “chinoiserie chic” to me.

Dries like tempura paint
After following the direction the paint would not set up. Even after waiting several days the painted went on smooth, but dried powdery. I literally could use a damp paper towel and wipe it off the dresser. I tried mixing it with another brand, same thing happened. I ended up having to get it all off, custom mix another brand to complete my dresser, will never buy again.

Really love it
I love this stuff! I painted the lower cabinets in my kitchen Dragonfly. It is a darker in person especially if you use two or more coats and you need to. I mixed it with another color to get the perfect shade.

Good customer service
Good customer service, and fast shipping. This paint didn't work like other milk paints for me; It had trouble mixing together, and then went on as more of a stain than a solid color. It was kind of a pinky/reddish stain, which was kind of pretty, but not what I was going for. I ended up painting over it with a different paint.

None fume-y and easy to clean up.
Color when painted on plain old 2 x 4s was surprisingly true to the color on the can label. Easy to clean up, and no fumes what.so.ever. (And let me tell you I was very prepared to call out ANY fume-y smells, because we were using this on my toddler's bed frame. :)

LOVE Milk Paint
Really like this. I make my own chalk paint but wanted to try this because it's a little more chippy and I LOVED the color when I saw it. Refinished and distressed a cheap IKEA desk and it looks beautiful. Photos don't do it justice but you can get an idea.

Not black, more of a grey
Very disappointed in the color. It’s more of a grey then black. Even with a few coats of the paint and a sealer on it.
