They say magnesium oxide is the worst absorbed form of magnesium, but you gotta use many types of magnesium to ensure results. I used citrate, chelated mag, liquid mag, and body spray... and together they got rid of my night time foot and calf cramps, as well as intermittent heart palpitations. As with any supplement, use it until you can change your diet, then get off the supplements (because supplements are NEVER whole food like in nature, no matter what the manufacturer says). These supplements are usually very expensive (in dollars these supplements are about half the price!)... but I only buy supplements that I knew from the U.S. so had to pay extra.

Magnesium oxide is said to be absorbed at 4 percent. At 250 mg magnesium oxide this has about 150 mg of elemental magnesium. Hence absorbed magnesium is 6 mg. Not clear if worth supplementing. The company is evasive when queried on this aspect.
