Realy weak hook holding mechanism
The media could not be loaded. Looks great but the mechanism that holds the hooks in place is really weak. It’s not the conventional steel wire conected internaly with a split ring that most lures have. Im guessing 2 or 4 pounds is enough to break it so if you’re aiming at 2lb fish or less go for it. Anything bigger than that is gonna break it off for sure. I made a video to show you the problem a bit better. Just remember: a chain is as strong as its weakest link.

Honest review: Best bait for bass.
If your looking for a big bass this is your baby! I've used this exact size and color bait for 5 decades and it's the corner stone of my tackle box. Fish this early in the morning or late in the day near dark and you will catch fish. Landed a nice bass on the first cast out the box. Best in low light or overcast day's. They make a lot of baits and there's a reason this things still around.

One of my favorite all-around lures.
I carried around a classic green/white hula popper in my tackle box for nearly 10 years before using it. It was a hand-me-down from my father, who preferred river trout fishing. I actually didn't think it looked like something fish would go for. Not only was I wrong, but it has turned out to be one of my favorite and fun lures whenever there is any top water feeding action going on. Here is why I think it is a winner for introducing young ones to fishing as well, it combines the visual cues of a bobber, with the very very forgiving stickiness of dual treble hooks. All the young person needs to do is tug on it occasionally with a very slow retrieve. When the fish go for it, it is easy to spot, and usually VERY entertaining. I have had fish shoot 2-3 feet in the air when initially clobbering this lure. The hooks are very sharp, and good quality, which means the hook-up ratio is very good, even for a young angler that hasn't mastered setting the hook. I carry a few color variations now days, but I find myself back with the classic green/white frog most often.

One of my favorites.
A cool, clear morning. A slight mist over the calm water. Lily pads on the surface, Hula Popper floating among them. A couple of quick tugs and let it rest. A couple more quick tugs and BAM!!! A big bass grabs it and runs. The fight is on.I can't tell you how many times I have lived this dream.Calm water early in the morning, for Lily pads, a little timber or along a bank a Hula Popper is my weapon of choice and has been for many years.

Grandad’s Favorite
Want to use the same lure your Pappy probably used down on the bayou in the 50s? This is your lure! Even though it’s been around for many years, the bass haven’t figured out how NOT to bite this little beauty! Do yourself a favor and add a few of these gems to your tackle box! Nothing is as exhilarating as a lunker smashing a too water!

Decent lure but no hits
Lure looks great but it just doesn't get the job done. Tons of bass in the ponds around my house in FL and none of them will go for this lure. Seems to be hit or miss with all customers. Not a bad lure but just not working for me.

It's a lock, almost unfair.
I've been using this little popper for years at dusk, it's a lock. I try to keep 3 tucked away in case they ever discontinue it.Buy it! Don't mess around, do the "buy with 1-click" option and be happy. If you can't catch a bass around sunset you are ether fishing where no bass live or you're using a bobber...either way, refer to Hula Popper on You Tube.

A+ Top water lure
Believe it or not, my family has been using the Black Hula Popper for 60 years or more. Great bait on a still morning just as the sun is coming up and seeing the water boil as you work the bait in the popping motion. Great memory

keep one of these in your tackle box
A hula popper has been part of my tackle box for as long as I've been fishing. It works for bass and pike in the shallows. After about 5-7 years the rubber tail begins to break down and you will need to replace. Frog and perch pattern work well. I have a blueish one too, never a bite with it.

Small
Super small for the price. Should have returned once it came. Not sure what size fish they except you to catch with this

Good lure but price is cheaper elsewhere
Good lure, ok price. Found it cheaper somewhere else after I'd bought this one

Cant wait to try again!
Had to buy another one due to a giant pike that broke it off my line on my very first cast using it! Popped it maybe twice before the fish hit. It was amazing!
