Each channel has its separate volume control. Do the bass/mid/treble and equalizer controls effect both channels or just channel 2?

The bass, mid, treble, and chorus are only for channel 2, channel 1 is like a dedicated microphone input, no effects, with a mic cable input. The concept, I think, for this amp, was for the singer/songwriter, to have their sound amplified at home, or in a smaller venue. For a small amp, it sounds pretty decent, and sometimes I just use the mic input lightly amplified, with an un-amplified acoustic guitar. You could also run a mic with a 1/4 guitar type plug into channel 2, gets some (mic) effects, with an um-amplified guitar. I have not actually done that, but don't see why one couldn't do so. Musicians love different musical effects, right???

can you use this amp for a loop pedal?

Not sure I understand the question, the amp has an instrument input, and a mic cable input. You could amplify anything with it. I don't think it would sound good with a pedal effect, but interesting concept, little reverb speaker. For looping music, that's expecting a lot of varied sound to come out of a small speaker. Seems like a music loop, plus instrument, and vocal could get pretty muddied, undefined, re output sound.

I see from the pictures that this amp has switch labeled "chorus". What does that mean?

Chorus is an effect, like Reverb, or Distortion, or Tremolo. It changes the sound of the instrument, or voice. Chorus is, to me a "shimmering, very slightly echoed sound", but not truly echo, or delay. Some people like the effect of Chorus, on an acoustic guitar, to change "the voice" of the guitar. Each song, the way its delivered, the way its played, the effect of the song, whether your a seasoned beginner, or a pro, should be unique in some way, as is possible, otherwise, all of ones songs start to sound "the same".
