A pocket square is a small piece of material worn in the breast pocket of a suit jacket. They first became popular when men started wearing two-piece suits in the 19th century and the once functional handkerchiefs kept in the breast pocket became purely decorative. Until recently pocket squares have been considered as formal wear, however the style conscious are now experimenting with these once traditional accessories in a whole new light! The Dapper pocket square measures 12 X 12 inches. We believe this is the perfect size, as anything smaller tends to slide inside the pocket and anything larger looks bulky. We have used 100% cotton, which is robust yet soft, retaining its shape better than pocket squares made with other fabrics. We print our pocket squares using the traditional method of hand screen printing. This method is more labour intensive but this gives them a more natural looking colour. Another advantage of screen printing is that while digital printed pocket squares produce prints that are only visible on one side of the fabric, screen printing allows the print to be equally clear on both sides. Our pocket squares have hems with a flat stitching technique, giving them a high-quality finish. We have sewn on our care labels onto the pocket squares by hand to ensure that they can easily be removed. Other pocket squares on the market have labels machine stitched, which means that at least one side or corner of the pocket square becomes unusable.
