Love having the trash up off the floor in the bathroom. It was easy to mount and has more storage capacity that I originally thought.

POSTSCRIPT TO ORIGINAL REVIEWUnfortunately, there seems to be a design issue with the catch.Not long after receiving these bins and starting to use them, the catch on one bin started to "catch" (resulting in closed bin not opening, or open bin not closing).Unfortunately, the catch is located at the front edge of the inner bin tub; no matter how careful we all are seems to collect every drop/crumb and jams (and needs to be cleaned repeatedly, then dried well before it will work again... all a bit fussy for a Brabantia... which in the past we always found to be robust). We are all also super careful to gently open/close the lid, as it seems so fragile. The other bin soon followed suit.Have not had a chance to write to manufacturer yet, but will need to - as this fault/design weakness makes the bins unusable.In all other senses love these bins, just unfortunate that the design of the closure is not better.Hoping that will be able to have a positive outcome :)-------------------------ORIGINAL REVIEWThis product is neat and tidy, but not exceptional.Would however recommend it to others.1. Finish/materialThe finish is not ideal - would have preferred one of Brabantia's colour-finishes.. however they only make this product in the silver (and it is their only 10L rectangle bin).The reason: have had Brabantia silver bins before, despite all promises none of them are fingerprint proof, they all get much grubbier then their coloured equivalents (our white one is great, in terms of surface finish it far outperforms the silver finish).2. Style/rangeWould love to see a much larger range of 10L (and smaller) good quality bins on the market* :)Expecially rectangle ones like this, that fit better into many spaces of the home.* In addition, of the small range available - only a subset can be purchased by Australian residents (eg. many items on Amazon that can't be shipped to Australia); which is a shame.3. Usage/functionWe have two of these - one for garbabe, one for recycling (for our kitchen).(With a little bit of messing about) can manage to get supermarket/grocery bags to fit inside as the bin liners (with no overhang visible) for the garbage bin.You can of course get Brabantia's own bin liners, if you wish to add the expense etc of those. The new bins come with a sample pack of the (standard) liners; an improvement would be if Brabantia included a sample pack of liners (ie. some of the standard liners, some of the compostable liners) for new owners to test.4. SummaryOverall, the bin is neat enough, and does the job. In future however we would prefer to find something with better quality finishing, and that was not in silver (and if possible had better mounting, mechanism, etc design; but retain the small capacity, and rectangular form).Would recommend it for anyone wishing to find something as a quick solution.

My wife bought the smaller compost version and the larger kitchen trash version. These products are expensive but the kitchen size has been flawless since we purchased it and it opens easily all of the time. The smaller version has a finicky latch and sometimes won't open or close. We think the problem is when it gets wet. When we empty the can we usually wash it out and it is then that the latch doesn't work, the next time you use it it starts working again. It took two e-mails to the seller to get a response (if you price your product as brabantia does you should have excellent customer service) I think it was 3 to 4 weeks from my initial e-mail that I finally got a response and when I did get the response they were quick to send me a new lid.

The main disappointment is that it is not air tight. The smells of the compost material permeated the kitchen. The ECO-2000 that replaced it, is doing very nicely.Joseph

Nice quality, a little loose on the wall mount...But it is only a bin... so I don't really have that much of expectations!!

Its looks and operation met my expectations. If it were a bit less expensive I would give it 5 stars.
