The product is really good. While I received no smart brew until the very end of the composting process, the compost in itself turned out good. The one thing that the guys never mentioned on the product description here or on the Youtube videos is to microwave the food waste prior to disposing into the Smartbin Air. This is a very effective method of doing away with the flies. Now I am rid of the difficult job of disposing my food waste into the stinky apartment wet waste bin.

Have been using this for about 3 months now. Great product to cut down on food waste sent to the garbage dump. Setup and filling the buckets are easy. Have emptied three buckets of compost so far, and restarting a fresh batch is very simple. Is taking 40 days of pickling in the bucket to become compost ready to use with plants. This is all vegetarian stuff from fruits and vegetables. I have not used the aeration bags provided. One surprise is that the seeds (pumpkin, pomegranate, tomato, etc.) don't disintegrate and end up sprouting once you add the compost to the plants. Have started heating the seeds to see if they can get cooked before adding to the bin. The leachate liquid is useful. Does work well to clean drain pipes. This is an added bonus. You do get some fruit flies unless you are super careful. So, we keep our bins outside in a shady area, not in the kitchen.

Though I bought it earlier, it's now been exactly a week since I started using the SmartBin set of two (the third was for a friend). Delivery was prompt and installation very easy with the video. But I have some questions - it's just been a week, and my bin is nearly full, though there are just two of us using it. One reason I chose this over Daily Dump s mutkas was because it seemed more compact - but if it fills up at this rate, I'm not sure how feasible regular composting is (even after transferring to bags). How are other people managing their quantity of waste? I've also had to use quite a bit of bio Bloom so that it doesn't smell. Again, I'm wondering how much I'll have to keep buying at this rate. There is a slight smell at times when I open the bin, is that because it's been quite hot? The other quibble is that we're not supposed to put any liquids which becomes a bit of a pain when disposing of curries.

Purchased three of these compost bins after purchasing 5 bins of two other companies from Amazon after the latter got filled up with bio degradable waste. It takes a very long time to compost in this method and it is also smelly when lid is opened for putting new waste. citrus fruits and mango kernels cannot be composted in these bins. In contrast waste in bins with holes smell less and compost vegetable, fruit, plant waste faster for use in gardening. I am now using the MCD compost bins with holes on all their sides for 1/5 of the price paid by me for the above product. I am able to compost citrus fruits also in the MCD bins though mango kernels cannot be decomposed by them.

I have been using this for a few months now... Product is very good.. no odour during composting.. And it is compact... Can be kept at a corner of the balcony..

Plastic quality is good. But unlike the claim the compost inside stinks somewhat. May be the bacteria mix supplied is inadequate. The bin cover doesn't have any holding edge and very difficult to open.

I had to return due to lack of space. So I cannot say anything about it's the thickness and utility.

Very nice product and good quality also. Contained pair of gloves apart from woven sack for storing-airing the compost as well along with all details mentioned.
