I bought these 410 stainless screws, #8 x 1/2" to attach 2 1/2" vinyl window casing to my new vinyl windows. The casing is nailed thru the nail flange, but I use 2 or 3 of these screws on each edge of the casing directly into the window frame. The 2 1/2" casing is too floppy otherwise and 3 screws in a 5' length pulls the casing in tight to the window frame. The short 1/2" length is perfect with minimal penetration into the window frame. Now, the magnetic part. I was skeptical. I'm actually pleased with the stainless screws performance with a magnetic bit holder. The 410 stainless screws are as secure on the magnetic driver bit as a regular zinc plated screw. Feeling the pull on the bit, although not scientific, I detected a very slightly higher magnetic attraction to the magnetic bit on the 410 stainless screws. Reaching inside the 2 1/2" casing with a 6" driver bit and screw on the end is tedious at best, but I feel that I dropped fewer 410 stainless screws on the ground than I have in the past using regular zinc plated wafer head screws. I wanted to try these out on my house in preparation for some vinyl siding/window work next week at my daughters house 6 hours from where I live. Very satisfied.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Screws have a nice black finish that goes well with stained woods. Sharp threads and well formed Phillips heads that drive well without stripping even in oak and hickory.

Very nice screws. The paint also felt durable, like, it didn't peel off when I screwed them in. I just wished they were 3/4". They'll do, for now.

I was mounting some permanent lights on my house. I wanted some white headed screws so they would blend with the mounting clip. These were perfect. I did not need to pre-drill any holes in the easily screwed into the soffit.

I installed a door bottom edge for my bedroom recently and it was all white but came with silver screws that didn't quite fit on a whole white surface. These matched well and self drilled in. I did replace a few as the paint chipped in the drilling process but had plenty extras. They were simple to use, as any screw and they seem well made and durable, great for indoor simple applications

Excellent product. I received them in two differnet shipments with a warning that the second box might not be sent...but in the end it arrived and all was good.

Good quality screw and the paint stays on after screwing in. I would purchase again.
