Caseology Athlex for Google Pixel 9 Pro XL Case 5G [Military Grade Drop Tested](2024) - Active Gray

This case feels incredibly well-made right out of the box. The build quality is top-notch, feeling solid and durable, which definitely aligns with the advertised military-grade protection. It has a premium feel that makes you confident it will protect your phone, exceeding expectations for a phone case. Putting the phone in was easy, and the fit is perfect. The integrated grip is a great touch; it feels secure in your hand, and the ergonomic design with accent lines makes a noticeable difference during everyday use. It works seamlessly with wireless charging, just as the description promised, and I had no issues with my screen protector either. It's exactly what I was looking for to keep my Pixel safe and easy to handle.

FINALLY. A case that is reasonably priced, and provides an actual texture that does what it is supposed to do. If you're having trouble holding on to the Pixel 8 Pro, or it feels too slippery when picking it up off a flat surface, this is the case you want. There is a cutout for the earpiece speaker (the other no-name case I ordered did not have this) so phone calls are not muffled. There is a good distance between the case, and the camera visor(?) so putting it on a table with the screen up will keep the camera from coming in contact with the table. The same goes for the front, there is enough of a lip to keep the screen from coming into contact with whatever you place it on (very useful for the "Flip to Shhh" feature). The cutouts for the ports are precise, and I have not found a USB-C cable that does not fit due to the case. The buttons can be a bit hard to press at times compared to no case, or even a case that has pass-through buttons (I think the official case from Google has those). That is to be expected with any case that covers a button with additional material, though. I thought I hated big phones, but it turns out I just never felt confident holding them with other cases, which meant I had to grip it extra hard, which would cause strain in my hand. This case almost eliminated that issue for me.

Favorite case I've ever had, including for the Google Pixel 7 Pro where I discovered the amazing texture that is unique to this case. Not very bulky or heavy in spite of reviews from those who have had whisper thin cases that didn't provide protection near as well as this. Grip is fantastic and a unique, comfortable material and texture that doesn't get caught in pockets. Size and weight are easily worth the protection. The detail and quality is probably also representative of the South Korean manufacture. This may not be the sexiest looking case with colors. But if you just want an awesome case that serves it's purpose and still looks very classy, sleek and worthy of being carried with business attire, this is that case. Caveat: This case is not exactly like the old Pixel 7 Pro case, which is my all time favorite. I do like that one better as it is a little harder and the sides are even more grippy. This is a little softer and I'm not so sure how I feel about it. Still, the case itself is like the P7P case and I couldn't see any other competing with this one.

The Caseology Athlex is a fantastic case and stands out from so many cookie-cutter cases that have no personality. The texture on the edges works well to provide a surface that is easy to hold onto. The back is divided into distinct rectangles that give it a bit of style. And the texture is such that the phone does not show fingerprints. What a blessing. So much nicer than a hum-drum flat surface found on most cases. The camera bar is well-protected by a build-up that scallops up to the top edge of the camera bar rather than having an abrupt 90 angle. It's a nicer transition and feels better in the hand and when removing the phone from your pocket. The only things keeping this from being the best case ever in my opinion are that the "military grade" drop testing was only done at 4 feet versus 10 or 12, and the power and volume keys are not more prominent. While they are clicky, they need to be a tiny bit higher and have a different texture than the phone (perhaps like the Spigen Liquid Armour). Out of all the hundreds of cases out there this one stands out in my opinion. I love the look, the feel, the protection, and the grippiness. If these things are important I think you will like it too.

I always look for cases that have great grip, especially on the sides. My theory is, if you don't drop your phone, it won't break. The Athlex has the best grip I've ever seen on a case, it seems nearly impossible to drop it accidentally. The case fits the phone perfectly and feels great in the hand. The case feels very protective without adding bulk. Only tiny negative is the rear camera protection could be a little more robust, but I don't think it's enough to take a star off a fantastic case. I've used Caseology cases before and they never disappoint.

This is my third Casology case and they never disappoint. These feel great in the hand, just the right amount of grip so it feels secure, and good protection. I never drop my phones but if I did, I would feel comfortable that this case would protect them. The fit is perfect and doesn't interfere with my screen protector. You can't go wrong with this one! And no, I did not get paid or get a free one. I just love this case.
