Woodfordes Nelsons Revenge Strong Bitter (3 Kg) (36 pt) beer kit

This is usually a great product, but it is only a Woodforde's product with the authentic taste if the kit comes with Woodforde's yeast.As the box was not packaged properly, not only was the yeast missing, but the tins were badly dented ( see pictures).I think that Woodforde's brewery would be appalled that Amazon have allowed their product to be sent out in this state. Usually they overbox items!Amazon are not going to exchange the product, despite the damage and the item not being" fit for purpose"!Go to Woodfordes' brewery direct if you want this item.

Tastes good alcohol content only trouble is some bottle brew quicker that others and you don't under you open it and it fizzes up losing half the bottle but thankfully it's only happened with a couple.

I have had this beer before and know it will be good when ready. Package arrived damaged which is no surprise as it was the package seen in the picture with a shipping label stuck on it.

Brew it bottle it and store it for 4 week; wondering

Easy to make. Great taste. Leave for atleast 4 weeks to mature.

This was the first kit I tried for years. I tried kits back in the 1970's and they were usually rubbish and put me off brewing for ages. Having gotten back into the whole wine/beer making scene I decided to give these 'new' 3kg kits a chance. I only chose NELSON'S REVENGE as my Staffie Dog is called Nelson (he likes beer too). Anyway the kit arrived and I set to work easy first stage and 7 days later into the barrel and wait 14 days! HA no chance! I sampled a small glass after 6 days and it was nice, so the next day my stepson and I sampled a half.The day later my wife tried a half I had a pint, stepson had a pint and it just got better. Sadly by day 11 it was gone! All 36 pints! Needless to say we were very impressed with the quality of the 'finished' product. I'm no real ale geek and normally drink Guinness or Cider but this kit compares to any of the ales I have drunk in a pub. I have to say this has restored my faith in beer kits and will certainly do more.Just 1 or 2 down sides the kit although well packed and the outer box undamaged, the actual kit box was torn and both cans were dented. Neither of which affected the product and the 'hop enhancement' sachet was was missing. Although there is no mention of it in the instructions. I spoke to a lovely lady called Helen at Bigger Jugs and shes looking into it for me.Overall I'm well pleased with Nelson's Revenge and if it was this good after only 11 days just think what a few more days will do. Must learn to be more patient LOL. Oh and Nelson Dog liked it too so it must be good!Steve T

Delivered without packaging, sticker attached to box with details on it. Box damaged, this was a Christmas present, doesn’t look nice. Wouldn’t buy again.

I have seen this advertised as both Nelsons “Revenge” and “Reserve” either way it is a beer full of flavour that pours with a nice creamy head. I left mine brewing beyond the 7-10 days as the sg was above 1000, with hindsight I should have proceeded to bottle when the sg stopped falling but the beer turned out fine anyway!
