It Works, but...
I have played with these before and they usually fail due to poor construction. That is entirely not true of this device. The three pieces that are between the lenses are attached using optical grade threads, in other words, super fine. This device will do exactly what it says it will. But you may need to help it. I used a Simmons spotting scope on a Simmons 40"(?) light spotting tripod. It all sounds good but any slop or play in the set up is a problem. Entirely fixable, but keep it in mind.Once you have your device focused on the lens of the scope you will need to increase your cameras magnification to get away from the tunnel effect of the adapter. I used an S22 Ultra for this part of the exercise and had the best results between 2.75 and 3x magnification. The spotting scope is good to 60 times magnification, all I wanted to do was have my phone screen full. This system should work if you are scoring targets from a static position, or surveilling a specific area, and not in any kind of dynamic situation. A more stable set up may also eliminate the problems I encountered. I would certainly use it at the range, but I have questions about it's effectiveness in the field.
