Worth the money
this magnetic gingerbread house was a hit with mt granddaughters (ages 2 & 4) last Christmas. They had so much fun being creative and building a gingerbread house. I store it with my Christmas stuff & it will be a special toy I bring out every Christmas. Great quality! The magnetic strength is decent & the price was reasonable.

Cute but a bit Limiting
My son is obsessed with magna tiles. We own 3 Picasso 150 piece sets, 3 magna tiles marble run sets, 1 knock off Elsa castle set (my daughters), and a few random pieces from Facebook. So clearly we love magna tiles. We got him this set for Christmas per his request for a Christmas magna tile. He also opens presents and plays with them right then for a long time ( 30 mins to 2 hrs). He opened this and took the pieces out but had a hard time figuring out how to make the house - he’s really good at that kind of stuff. He’s a duplo expert, LEGO expert, and magna tile pro so I took a shot. I also found it a little tricky bc things like the rug when oriented right, still looked a little off. The directions book is pretty insufficient and not clear. This is the case with all magna tile direction books. They really need a clear manual like legos to scaffold young builders. The quality is excellent and it is very cute. It was just interesting that he wasn’t into it and hasn’t returned to it. My biggest gripe with these magna tiles is you really need SO many to build anything significant or cool. I don’t mind buying a few sets but we now have 350 magna tiles and 300 magna tile marble run pieces and I realize we need more larger squares still. So all that to say, it’s cute, a bit pricey, and a bit tricky for young builders.

Educational and fun
I bought this as a Christmas present for my 7 year old. He will be impressed. Picasso tiles are one of his favorite things. I couldn't pass up getting him his own tree with lights, for his room.

Good idea but..
Our elves brought this to our kids when they arrived at our house. The kids (and I) were excited about it, especially the lights you can add. It shows you 8 different variations of building the tree, but there are no instructions, so we’ve been trying to create trees like the ones shown, with no luck. Now I have a kid in tears and I’m frustrated trying to create one of the simpler trees shown. As a very capable adult, if I can’t figure out how to create the trees shown, I’m not sure how kids are expected to. Directions or a step by step guide would make this a 5-star gift. Without directions, it’s just magnetic tiles, which we already have hundreds of…

Halliday fun
It's well made, with lots of open-ended ways for the children to enjoy building with. It's great for an activity in my Montessori class for ages 3-6.
