Brilliant!!

I have great pleasure in saying that I was really pleased to find this CD as I have had all the Doobie Brothers on tape before now, and buying all these albums with two CDS on each one is very handy, saved me buying the disc's individualy, a great buy for all fans, nice price too.

2 CD réunis des Doobie Brothers, 2 albums de 1989 et 1991. Après leur séparation après une tournée d'adieux s'achevant à Los Angeles en 1982, les musiciens du groupe ont tenté des carrières solo assez peu couronnées de succès. En 1989 les musiciens d'origine décident de se retrouver, autour des fondateurs Simmons et Johnston, forcément sans Michael McDonald. Ce qui donne l'album Cycles, joli succès, quelques titres efficaces mais on est loin des chefs d'oeuvre des années 70 (Toulouse Street, The captain and me...). En 1991, nouvel album Brotherhood, là aussi pas désagréable à écouter mais pas renversant non plus et dont le succès sera encore moindre que son prédécesseur. Le groupe ne se retrouvera vraiment qu'au début des années 2000...2 albums pour les fans complets du groupe et qui n'ont pas trop mal vieilli grâce au talent des musiciens mais clairement pas indispensables surtout pour ceux et celles qui voudraient les découvrir. En 2020 le groupe repart sur les routes pour fêter ses 50 ans d'existence (ultime tournée?) accompagné par un guest star de luxe, Michael McDonald lui-même! Forcément les fans se régalent mais cette tournée, pour l'instant, ne passe ni par la France, ni même par l'Europe...Grosse déception.

Une préférence pour le premier album car les compositions restent davantage en tête, mais quoiqu'il en soit, les deux restent d'excellents opus, assez proches par moment de leurs débuts. Mention spéciale pour le titre "I can read your mind" sur l'album Cycles.

ブラザーフッドは発売当時CDを買ったんですが、サイクルズのほうはなぜかインポートのカセットテープを買っていました。なのでサイクルズのCDが欲しいなあ・・と思いつつ今に至った訳ですが、単品よりこっちのほうが安かったんで購入を決めました。サイクルズは昔の焼き直しみたいな曲があるにはあるけど、全体が明るく勢いがあった。んで、当然次も期待したんだけど、ちょっとというか、ブラザーフッドはだいぶ地味でした。当時もあまり聴かなかったと思います。

I've been waiting for a remastered version of Cycles for years, I was lucky to get Brotherhood in the same package. I love both these albums, but I'm especially fond of Cycles. It's the first cd I purchased by the newly reformed Doobies. It's got a lot of great tunes and even though I've always heard the Doobies songs on the radio I had never owned an actual album by them except for greatest hits packages. I would definitely recommend you pick this up!!!

a great and cheap way to get some of the more recent Doobie Brothers albums. Cycles has The Doctor which was a favoirte song when I was in college 20+ years ago!!!

Two good CDs! The Doobie brothers rock as strong as ever! This double cd is a great bargain for the price!

Love anything Doobies. Glad Cycles became available again. Both albums are great and highly recommended.
