I love this product! I got this for an elderly relative who likes eating her meals while seated on the sofa watching tv. A regular tray table would have posed a tripping hazard, would have to be picked up and moved in and out of place, and could easily be knocked over. It just wouldn't have worked. By contrast, the Wonder Tray table assembly is held securely in place under the sofa feet, and the table top swings freely out of the way when not in use. My relative doesn't need any assistance to use it. Product support from Stander is great too. I had a question and they quickly responded to my inquiry and handled my issue more than satisfactorily. Just make sure you make a note of the Lot # of the product before you install it under the furniture legs, because the Lot # is on sticker on the underside of a bottom plate. The company will ask for the Lot # if you ever need product support. I bought an earlier version of this Stander tray table years ago when I needed a spacious keyboard tray under a table that I was using for a desk. The table top was too high for the keyboard, and the center drawer prevented me from attaching a keyboard tray to the underside of the table. The Stander tray table is adjustable in height, fits neatly under the desk, and swings out of the way when I don't need it. I use it every day. Some may think it is a little pricey but it has been exactly what I needed in more than one situation and well worth it. It is easily assembled, sturdy, adjustable, unique, and versatile. I love it.

I have worked from home no less than 1 day per week for the past 6 years and exclusively from home since March 2020. I have had number of solutions/work spaces in my home including: desk from IKEA, working at the kitchen table, and working from the couch with a laptop cooling station as a desk. All of those solutions had common challenges: 1. Not a dedicated space which required packing and unpacking my computer and work items each night (exception for the ikea desk), 2. Not designed for sitting endlessly for hours each day (exception to the IKEA desk), 3. in the case of the IKEA desk, required additional furniture (desk chair) and had a large footprint; to name just a few. Needing a more permanent solution that would alleviate the above challenges, I began searching for a ‘C’ table on Amazon when I came across the Able Life Universal Swivel TV Tray Table, Portable Laptop Desk, Adjustable Couch Desk for Computers (their product name, not mine 😀). Certainly it was more expensive than a C table; however in my opinion it the Able Life offers more flexibility and can be customized to fit the height of the chair you have (where as a C table would be a single height). Another benefit was that the Able Life allows you too easily get into and out of you seat. This is an overlook hassle- with a C table or other, you’d have to move the table each time you get into and out of the chair. Assembly and Set-up: Assembly is straight forward and the instructions clear enough. I will say the directions for installing the two set screws for leveling the top weren’t hardly clear. There is a limit on how ‘narrow’ you can make the base, but that can be over come, if so inclined, by cutting the bar(s) and connector that attach the feet. Conversely, there is a maximum width on the base, indicated by a ’stop here’ etching on the connecting bar. While the images on the product page show a configuration thats orients the table alongside the sofa/chair (front to back), for me installing the table with under the two front legs of my chair was the best option. That was partially because of the design of my chair, whereby the rear legs are set inside the front legs (its an arched base chair), although I could have used it as pictured- it would’ve just been angled a bit and I wouldn’t be able to push the chair I am using as far back (chair is angled in a corner versus being flat to a wall). I found an added benefit of setting the table in this configuration provided a better ‘footprint’ while also (since I am using this with a chair) keeping the chair from being at an angle. I had originally considered adding furniture feet to level the chair legs, but setting the table under front legs eliminated one side of the chair being ever so slightly higher. Setting the height of the work surface is easily accomplished and a set screw is tightened after setting the height to secure the riser. One thing I cannot opine on, and it may be less comfortable, is using this with a couch or armless chair. If on the end of a couch, you’d have an armrest (on the left or the right side of you and no arm rest on the other side). Having one arm on a couch arm rest and the another not supported might make this an odd setup- but since Im using this with a chair and the chair has arms; I set the height of the table such that my arms rare supported, resting at ninety degrees on the arms of chair and not putting a lot of weight on the table surface itself. Add-Ons and Modifications: I purchased the add-on “utensil compartment” to keep a few pens and my AirPods nearby. I also purchased the add-on “base tube organizer” to keep a pack of sticky notes, my Magic Mouse and a dust brush within arms reach. These accessories are easily installed in a moment to two. I also made a couple of modifications to the riser. I’ve added some cable clips (OHill Cable Clips, 16 Pack Black Cord Organizer Cable Management) with outdoor double sided tape for power cord management. Lastly I bought an iPad mount (Aduro Solid-Grip iPad Stand Holder 360 Adjustable Universal Gooseneck Lazy Tablet Stand for Desk) and cut the clamp off. I then drilled a 1/2” hole in the cap of the riser on the table and inserted the remaining iPad mount into the table riser. I had tried using the iPad mount clamp, but I couldn’t get the clamp to the attach in a position I liked and it took away some of the minimalist design of the Able Life table. Of course, an additional accessory could be designed by Able Life to recreate my solution and offer a mount for tablets… Able life, I release all rights to this idea should you pursue it - a simple credit or acknowledgment would be nice 😁 Using the table: Usage is straight forward. Pivot the top out of you way, sit down and pull the top towards you. The pivot of the table arm, combined with the swivel of the table mount, enables a wide range of motion and possibilities for getting position right for your set up. One downside is with this type of single arm design, and by no means a design flaw of the Able Life, the table can bounce a bit when writing or typing. It’s not a huge issue, however if you’re on a video call the other participants may see jostling. Reflecting on my earlier comment about using this on a couch, the more thought I give to that set up, the less comfortable I think this would be for all day use. If I could make any recommendations it would be to offer a few different color options. I’ll distress the top of mine to better match my decor and I’ll spray paint the base and riser an antique brown; again for aesthetics. I’d also suggest rounding off the edges of the table surface as they are a bit sharp. Summary: So, is this a good work from home solution for you? I would say you’d be hard pressed to find a better solution if you want a minimalist design, plenty of configuration options, a small footprint, the ability to use your existing furniture, especially an arm chair, and only need a work surface large enough for a laptop and using a mouse or writing with pad (legal size or similar).

TL/DR: If you ignore the rather institutional look, this is a terrific sofa/chair table from a functional and ergonomic standpoint. It’s sturdy, and the table arm and rotating table top both swing easily, but not TOO easily, so they don’t inappropriately move with use. The table is a generous size without feeling too big, and the table top is a nice, sturdy, natural bamboo. The various adjustments allow a custom, ergonomic fit that works with most furniture, although furniture leg type affects how well. It’s also reasonably priced given the quality and features. While the base is not ideally suited to my recliner’s base, I do not regret my purchase and highly recommend. =========================================== I suffer from physical disability and chronic pain issues related to Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and its many comorbidities. As I’ve aged, things have gotten bad enough that function and comfort increasingly win over beauty or cool factor. I love “attractive”, but I NEED items that enhance my quality of life! I recently broke down and bought a La-Z-Boy power rocker-recliner - and the most comfortable one for my body, NOT the most suited to my decor. TOTALLY recommend getting one, regardless of your physical status or design style! Just amazing comfort! Going all in on comfort and function, I paired my beloved La-Z-Boy with this Able Life Universal Swivel TV Tray table, and it’s now my favorite spot in the house. I’m not much of a TV person, and I can’t play video games until I’ve healed from recent hand surgery, so I’m enjoying my recovery downtime reading and consuming content on my iPad Pro. This tray table has been perfect for (mostly) hands-free, ergonomic reading. Anyone looking for a way to work, game, craft, or eat from a chair or sofa can benefit from this versatile table. In my setup, my iPad Pro hovers over the tray table via a Lamicall Gooseneck Tablet holder, for reading and browsing content. The awesome Feker Alice 80 wireless keyboard sits at the ready for typing and one-key page turning. The table also holds my iPhone, my La-Z-Boy recliner remote, my reading and/or regular eyeglasses (stored in one of those desktop, faux fur-lined, dual eyeglass holders), a dandy leather “Jotlet” discbound notepad by Levenger, a nice pen, lip balm, hand cream, dry eye drops, etc. Instead of the plastic cup holder sold for this table, I picked up a more attractive, wood and metal, clamp-on cup holder from IKEA. I love mine, but third party options will likely come with the caveat that they rest below the table top vs. flush with it, like Able Life’s, so do keep in mind leg room needs/cup holder placement. I highly recommend a cup holder of SOME sort, as it frees up table space and eliminates the risk of spills. The reason for one star off is unfortunately the suboptimal and needlessly frumpy base. Its unattractiveness would be insignificant if the design actually worked for my situation, but it doesn’t. While it’s adjustable, the base is just too unnecessarily tall, and it’s too narrowly designed, as it’s made specifically to work with chairs and sofas that have corner “feet”. My recliner doesn’t have feet. Instead, the flat wood base runs front to back under each side of the recliner in a single piece per side (I think it’s called a sled base?). As the tray table is currently designed, my recliner’s one-piece, left-side “sled” base can’t make contact with the rubber pads, but instead floats on the metal rim of the front and back sections of the table base. Because of this, my lightweight recliner slides over, and eventually OFF, the table’s base when I get up. This means I have to lift and move my recliner BACK onto the table base multiple times daily, with my (severely carpal/cubital tunnel affected) “good” hand and arm (spoiler: they’re not good at all), since my left is bandaged and stitched due to recent surgery. Mind you, this tray table is marketed to the elderly and infirm! Able Life needs to take heed of how the Vivo Swivel Couch Desk incorporates a FLAT metal base - a great choice in an otherwise inferior quality design. The flat base is more versatile, accommodating more chair leg/base styles, while creating less of an imbalance in height between the left and right sides of a chair or couch. It also looks more modern and less “nursing home chic” than the current base, especially because it’s black and not “industrial medical brown”. I’m actually debating finding someplace local to unweld and swap out the table base, assuming it’s possible, to better suit my needs. Having said that, I did a lot of research before choosing the Able Life tray table, and it was THE best overall option when looking at a combination of function, quality, price, looks, and availability, so I don’t regret the purchase - and again, I strongly recommend.

I love this couch table! After shoulder surgery, I needed a thing like this and I'm glad I found this one. It's very adjustable and it has worked with two different couches in our house so far. You do need the tools to adjust (included or use standard ones), but you only need to do that once and it's easy (if you are two handed ). It's so very convenient to have a very sturdy, swing-away table during my recovery!! So easy to use one handed and you can have a lot of items on it all at once!! I thought I was just going to use it during my recovery but I like it so much that I'm going to keep using it even after. Just a small warning that phone case ring stands with pointed edges can lightly scratch the surface of this table. I'm going to switch phone cases and use a brown pen on the scratches to hide then because I want to use this table for years.

I finally have a reliable, well-built table for drawing while in my recliner. The swivel top is smooth and silent, swinging away so I can check my work. It works over an existing side table, so I can have my tools and snacks handy. I added a padded under-desk footrest, and use it as a backrest for my iPad. It gives a wider range of elevations to work from than typical lifts. The table works flawlessly and I’m thrilled. It’s perfect. Oh! It is much easier to have two people set it under your chair, as it’s awkward and heavy. Assembly was a breeze. I’m 77 and I thank you.

I have a gaming PC hooked up to my 85" flat screen in a dedicated media/gaming room. While playing, I normally sit in a La-Z-Boy recliner with a home-made lap board across the armrests that holds a keyboard and mouse. The downside to that solution is that getting out of the recliner can be a challenge since I have to find a place to set the board to stand up, and the mouse will often slide off when I do that. Also, reclining leaves the board tilted toward me, so letting go of the mouse has it sliding into my lap or between my leg and the arm of the recliner. This caught my eye as a potential alternative since it was listed as "Extra Large" and seemed to offer the stability I'd need for something I would swing out of my way when I stood up. However, "Extra Large" wasn't large enough; I had to position the mouse in front or back of the keyboard which was very impractical for gaming (and yes, I'm aware of TKL keyboards but I absolutely want a numeric pad). For me the solution was to remove the supplied tray and install the lap-board in its place. The original tray is held on with 4 bolts that go through a metal plate into captive nuts on the bottom of the tray. I simply used some short wood screws to attach the lap-board, and the solution is about as perfect as I could hope. All the comfort of a La-Z-Boy with the convenience of a $1K gaming chair. One minor negative with the unit as-shipped is that using it on a carpeted surface will cause the chair it sits on to tilt slightly. I fixed that by putting a set of furniture glides under the feet on the opposite side of the chair. As mentioned in the subject, it's well-built and was very easy to assemble. Modifying it to fit my requirements was also easy. It would have gotten 5 stars if it had lived up to the "Extra Large" selling point.

Just received this and after putting more than my share of IKEA furniture together, I set aside an hour to get it put together. I'm not sure what to do with the extra 55 minutes after getting it put together so I figured I'd write a review. Installation couldn't be more simple. When I saw there were only 3 screws and an allen wrench, I assumed that I was missing a big bag of hardware somewhere. Nope. Really that's required to get this together. I had it together in 5 minutes. It might take you longer but seriously no more than 10 minutes and this will be up and running. I've only been using it for 20 minutes, but I'm writing this review with my Macbook on the swivel tray and it hasn't broken yet! It's fairly sturdy. There is a little wobble - but no more than I would have expected. Not that I'd recommend it, but I've swing this all of the way out with my Mac on it and no concerns. It's actually only a little wobbly it seems because of the weight of my arms and movement as I type. Unexpectedly, (I didn't read the whole product description) it came with 3 cable management clips and they work like a charm. I honestly review almost nothing, but just had to note what a good product this is. Well made, easy to assemble, and functional. Couldn't ask for more.

Few products are life-changing. This certainly changed mine. For everyone who spends a lot of time at home working on a laptop, the ability to do this on a completely stable surface that swivels easily out of your way while sitting on your comfortable couch (instead of on the floor) is amazing. Especially if you are older, and getting up and down from the floor all day (no matter how comfortable your cushions and backrest are), gets tiresome. I own three laptop riser stands, of different heights and weights, and they greatly improved my ease in using my laptop in the living room (who wants to sit at their office desk all day?) But the problem with riser stands, especially those with taller extendable legs, is that they are not stable. I learned this the hard way when my big high-end ASUS laptop got knocked off the riser onto the floor. It cost me $500+ to replace the motherboard ! After that experience, I finally relented and bought this laptop stand/TV tray table. I hesitated because of the price and because I didn't want a piece of 'furniture' in front of my couch all the time. But I wish I had bought this product a long time ago, because it is great -- not only as a laptop stand, but also as a TV tray for eating at. The best part is that you can adjust the tray to any height you like (not pre-set increments like risers) and just push the tray lightly to the side when you are ready to get up off the couch. The tray swivels easily in many directions, so you can leave your laptop or food on it without fear that anything will tip over. It is a large and very stable surface. The assembly was pretty easy. The tray comes with all the tools you need. It took me a few hours, but I am a middle-aged woman who does not have a lot of 'home improvement' skills. If you can assemble a piece of IKEA furniture, you can assemble this. I see that some reviewers complained that this table does not fit under their armchairs, and I can see how that may be a problem. But if you have a couch, you will not have an issue. The base of the stand slides to fit a pretty big range of depths (the distance between your front and back legs, and then you simply tighten the bolts to keep it stable. Similarly, the height is easily adjustable to clear your couch arm, and you tighten the bolt when you are happy with the result. No more backache/neck ache from bending over to use your laptop! You can position it as close or far as you want. This is a simple but great product. I only wish I had bought this years ago. A++++
