It was assembled backwards. The top plate should be on the bottom, and vise versa.
It was assembled backwards. The top plate should be on the bottom, and vise versa. I got this inexpensively enough through Amazon's warehouse deals, that I figured I would give making it fit a try. I spent a little time with a cutoff wheel, some sanding, and some JD Green paint. I managed to get it to fit reasonably well on my old JD 755. I saw a similar review on another version of this on Amazon, where the gentleman received one assembled upside down too. I guess it's a common manufacturing error from whomever is welding these up.
