Great Mic
Easy to use great quality even with the USBC connection. It's heavy to and build quality is superb.

A great mid price podcast mic
Great product. I’m amazed at how much it has elevated my voice—more clarity and tone.

White Version
Good Mic. Leaving this review as none of the picture reviews had the white version. I’m using the PSA1+ mic arm with it.

Doesn't pick up sound
Worked fine for a couple of months and then just stopped picking up sound after about 3 months. Literally only recorded 6 podcasts with it. Would recommend looking elsewhere.

Takes a while to get it set up but once you've found the best settings, it's really good
I upgraded to this from a Blue Yeti and I'm pleased I did. Also pleased I got it cheaper via the Amazon Marketplace! I wanted it so I can record YouTube videos - I play woodwind instruments and also talk about the music, so I wanted a mic that could handle both in a way that sounded good, for voice AND musical instruments, resulting in recordings which don't need much tweaking on my video editing software. I'd also done a lot of research on this mic and liked the way you seem to get as good a mic with USB-C as the XLR version. Out of the box on connecting to my Asus laptop with Windows 11, the result was...... NOTHING!!! I spent AGES googling for solutions and trawling through YouTube videos. In the end I discovered you have to disable a couple of Intel audio settings in the laptop setup! Then it worked. Just. So I googled software options. RODE produce at least 3, all of which I downloaded, but ended up opting for RODE Unify as not only can you tweak the settings on the mic (see misc YouTube videos) but you can record too. With the Blue Yeti I'd used Audacity, but the RODE PodMic USB recorded REALLY QUIETLY regardless of how many tweaks I did on Audacity, so I'm actually finding that the Unifty software does the job for me. I record using it and then export the file to my choice of folder which I then upload into my video editing software along with the visuals to make videos. I use PowerDirector, and was delighted to discover that the recordings required pretty much no tweaking to get the right sound. All I needed to do was to increase the volume on the track. I wanted a mic where I could talk, then play music, then talk, without having to tweak the voice and music separately. Once I'd got the settings right on Unify, after quite a bit of testing, it's all worked out really well. Both voice (talking) and woodwind instrument (alto baroque recorder) sound great. The mic also screws into an existing boom arm I have which is good, too. It doesn't come supplied with a stand. So to conclude: once you've worked out how to set it up, get it working and get the right settings for you, this is a really good mic. Straight out of the box and plugged into the Asus laptop with Windows 11, it DOES NOT WORK until you fiddle with the Intel settings and download RODE software like Unify.

Paired with a low profile Ffine boom arm
An amazing microphone that comes with a pop filter and really easy to setup! With the correct settings, this is one of the best XLR/USB mic out there!

An amazing mic for the money
This microphone has proven itself to be incredible, especially considering the mid-range budget! I've used it both via USB-C and via XLR using an interface (the Volt-1, for reference). It has lived up to expectations and is an incredible value. It doesn't come with a mic stand so you'll need an arm (Røde do one of their own which has worked great for me), but other than that it is perfect, well built and records clear as day.

Ok i feel i need to address this but when i was first looking at this i saw it was frequently returned amd the shock hit me too but i felt it was such a good product i needed to take the risk ok so before we get into the pros and cons i came from a yeti x and was debating on this or the shure mv7+ but since the time of making this review the mv7+ is much more expensive and after watching videos this mic sounded better on usb PROS: -im honestly pretty impressed how well built this mic feels and it does have pretty good weight to it -the sound signature is just so good for the price and even out of the box with no software it sounds great -the software is actually pretty easy to use and theres even an advanced mode for people who want more options -much better at not picking up mouse clicks or keyboard typing CONS: -the lack of a physical mute button is definitely taking some getting used to -the usb is usb-c to usb-c some people may need to get an adapter if using older motherboards or laptops with no usb-c (most stuff has usb-c but im just putting that out there) Overall im glad i gave this one a chance

O microfone realmente tem um diferencial. Utilizei diretamente no meu smartphone pela conexão USB-C e supriu todas as minhas necessidades. Entrei no site da RODE e cadastrei o produto e a garantia ficou em 5 anos. Sensacional!

OKAY. If I were reviewing just this microphone, I would have 0 complaints. It's perfect from top to bottom. However, I do have 2 complaints that have knocked this down a star. 1) The microphone came with very minor marks which makes me wonder if this was opened or if it missed inspection somehow, or was used. It is white which does make it a little obvious. 2) This is an expensive microphone. I do not intend to buy another one and certainly will not get just to have it in another color. Why did I order a white microphone and it comes packed with a black pop filter? Do I need to buy the matching color separately if I want it to match? Was this a mistake? If it isn't, this is ridiculous to me. If I ordered a white-bodied microphone it should be standard issue to come with a matching pop filter. If this is a money grab, it right pisses me off for such an expensive product. Even 30-dollar shoes come with properly matched shoe laces.
