Brilliant little machine, easy to use, compact and neat, easy to clean and makes a great cup of coffee for one without making too much which then gets thrown out. Efficient and I wish I had bought this coffee maker months ago

Fed up with using my messy cafetiere, I wanted a simple pain free way of making a single cup of filter coffee quickly. If that is all you want then look no further, this absolutely does the job and for sub £20 is a great buy. The coffee tastes great, and you get a handy little scoop that is the recommended amount of coffee for a single cup - which seems to be exactly right. Looking at some of the negative points from other peoples feedback, I found; pouring the water into the machine, is a little tricky, but not a problem. The temperature of the coffee is bang on. The cup seems good quality, you couldn't turn it upside down without leaks - but otherwise is fine.

A neat little unit - I bought to use at work for fresh coffee in the mornings. Overall pleased with it for the price. Pros: -compact and lightweight - makes a tasty fresh brew good flavour just takes a couple of goes to judge how much coffee to use for your preference -easy to use and set up - took minutes! - heat cup that comes with it keeps coffee warm for most of the morning -filter basket easy to move in and out - insulated cup has a good seal on drinking spout so unlikely to have spillage issues -heats up quickly and delivers hot coffee in a few minutes Cons - cup/unit is smaller than photo suggests but still gives a reasonable amount of coffee for one -filter basket has a groove in the plastic inside which is hard to clean coffee from - a week of use and the filter mesh is already stained - insulated cup gets hot to hold - cup drinking spout is cut deep into the lid so you uave to tip it alot to drink which I found a bit annoying! - very short power lead - easily solved with extension lead but consider where you're thinking about placing it in relation to plug socket!

Working from home means preparing more coffee at home. I chose a non pod machine as I know some of the machines with plastic pods become expensive and cannot be recycled. Thus chose the old fashioned option of filter coffee. Easy to use just for one cup, use your favourite coffee. I have tried lots of different brands currently prefer a supermarket own brand that comes in a tin for around £2 $3. Insulated mug keeps coffee hot and you can take it to your car. I think you will enjoy using it and save lots of money compared to take away coffee

I used this with a smart plug because this one cup coffee machine uses a mechanical switch. This means that with a smart plug I can make it come on each morning, ready for when I wake up. That part is great. The smart plug I used was like this one: https://amzn.to/2OTjG86 This coffee machine comes with a plastic filter which is advertised as "you won't have to buy filter papers". But in reality, I still use size one paper filters inside this plastic "filter", which is more of a paper filter holder than anything else. If you don't use paper filters too, then the coffee will be very weak. I don't believe any coffee machine will make a strong coffee without paper filters though. Here are the paper filters I use: https://amzn.to/2Dj17VC So once you are happy with your now diy smart coffee machine and preparing it the night before with water and paper filters, it does make one decent cup of coffee in about 3 minutes. If you want to make a second cup though, you have to wait a few minutes until it cools down, before it will allow you to press the "On" button again! The last thing to note, the plastic filter (aka paper filter holder) started having what looked to be mould inbetween the mesh on one of the bottom corners. I tried cleaning it but it was still there. So it may not be mould but I don't know what it is and this has put me off using it. I have tried contacting Morphy Richards asking if I can buy a new replacement filter but they do not reply. They list a replacement filter online but it is never in stock. They obviously make them as they are still selling the same machine and have even just released a new colour option! Morphy Richards seem to just want me to buy a new unit and are not bothered about selling replacement parts. My only option now is to buy a whole new unit, or do I try a different make/model?

I bought this because coffee pods are getting more expensive & I'm the only one in the house who drinks "proper" coffee. Really pleased with it. Best to pour water in the tank with a jug. I'm using paper filters, Melitta 1x4 which I cut down to fit. These can just be thrown in the compost bin. I use 2 scoops of coffee as I like my coffee strong. A normal size mug fits fine. Machine is compact & takes up very little room on the worktop. Planning to use it in our motorhome too as it's small enough. Totally recommended.

I love this machine, quick and easy to use, I use a larger mug and add a bit more water. It is my weekend treat, so easy to clean too.
