Thunderbirds Are Go: Volume 2 [DVD] [2015]

Well, I got my wish - more Kayo & Thunderbird S!That's some machine Kayo has there, I'm sure Derek Meddings would be proud! :)So, series 2 - in some way I can't quite define, it's better than the first series. Characterisation is still as important as the hardware, of course, and some old favourites (such as Gladys!) are back. The episodes seem to flow better - still fast-paced, but not breakneck speed.Speaking of recurring characters, I don't think we've heard the last of the Hood - or whoever he's working for. Apparently he's Agent 79...which implies 78 other Agents, of course. What he says to Colonel Casey in 'Legacy' definitely implies at least a third season - YAY!

When Thunderbirds are Go! hit our screens last year, I was not overly impressed. It was all too frenetic, the characters lacked depth and the animation was a bit wonky, especially when compared to the excellent New Captain Scarlet CGI adventures. However, subsequent viewings of season 1 showed changed my mind and the series really started to find its own pace.With season 2 the programme seems to have really hit its stride with better writing, excellent special effects and the animation has improved immeasurably.I'm old enough to remember the original series first time round and it still has its charm. However these new boys keep the legend alive.

This second season is excellent. A great reboot of the puppet show original. Uses CGI mixed it with models. Excellent stories and music. Lots of Easter eggs to the original show. Only disappointment is there are no extras on the DVD.

I already had the complete set and thought this was the next series, but it was a wonderful gift for my friend's children all the same.If you have Volume one then buy this - you won't regret it.

F.A.B. Thunderbirds Are Go for another exciting series. We are loving this new season of Thunderbirds stories. In my opinion this is even better than the first series, and that was excellent. The quality of the animation and storylines is superb. New character Kayo finally gets some stories that feature her and the amazing new Thunderbird "S". This amazing DVD is a must buy for any Thunderbirds fan.

An excellent DVD - both my 3 year old and 7 year old love this and play it regularly. As Dad, I remember the originals, but have to say the new series has the edge - strong stories, fast pace, amazing graphics and the usual Tracy humour. You should get hours of use from this DVD.

To those of us raised on the original this may seem like heresy. It ain't. Some changes have been made, for the better, while others have made for copyright reasons. Other than that, it's true to the original using models for the sets and imposing CGI over it. As much fun and as interesting as the original.
