Summary of Into the Magic Shop: by James R. Doty Includes Analysis Paperback – April 21, 2016

Wonderful summary of James Doty's book. His story is truly amazing. When he was 12 years old, he lived in poverty with his parents. His father was an alcoholic, and money was scarce. James distracted himself by becoming good at magic tricks. One day, when out looking for his brother, he found a magic shop in a strip mall. There he met the owner's mother, Ruth. Ruth and Jim got into a discussion of magic. Ruth offered to teach Jim real magic if he would come every day for 6 weeks. What she taught him was meditation and visualization. These two things transformed Jim's life. The story is truly magical when you read about the many seemingly coincidences that occur to get him where he visualized himself being in the future.This summary is very well-written and offers a fascinating glimpse into Dr. Doty's story. I was captivated by this story and am planning to the buy the book. I was given this summary to review in exchange for my honest review. I can highly recommend this.

This is an overview of the actual book “Into the Magic Shop.“ Kind of like an abbreviated Cliff's Notes for the full book. It provides a potential reader enough information regarding this non-fiction book’s content to determine if we want to invest the extra money and time to actually buy and read the entire book. This is a "rags-to-riches" type of autobiography on how an impoverished youth with mental disabilites went on to overcome his problems and become a highly successful doctor. At .99 cents, this summary is a good value, which is one of the reasons I have personally found “Instaread” to be a useful service.
