Ive had this Dsi for about three years now and it has been just great for playing the odd game and surfing the internet (although it is quite slow.) But what can you expect, it is just a DS anyway!! Up till now it has been just awesome, until something went wrong. I was just playing mario kart, when i decided to go outside for a while, and closed the lid. but when i came back the ds had turned itself off for no reason what so ever. it wasnt that it had ran out of charge as it was working fine afterwards. I think it was because i was getting angry at the game and shook it violently which may have corrupted the screen. So i suggest to be quite careful with it as this does it quite a lot now and i think i will either get it repaired or buy a new one. overall it is pretty good, the dsi shop works well as does the internet, and the interface it greatly layed out clearly

it was amazing! came fully functional and was very clean out of the box. it only had 1 very small dent but that was it. i must say im very impressed

I got a DSi a few days ago and cannot honestly see why people have complained at all. I bought a DSL to replace my DS and the DSi to replace it. having had all three releases, I can honestly say the vastly improved menu interface is by far worth the upgrade alone. And come on people, show a bit of initiative here. If you want to play GBA game then get yourself onto Ebay and get a GBA or better still an R4/M3. Afterall, it isn't illegal to posess copies of games you already own. Sure the camera sucks, but when you bought your phone did you think "This'll be good for making calls" or "Gee, I sure do like the camera quality". If you want a camera that takes ridiculously big photographs you can get them for £50 nowadays. The only true downside I can see in this is that I can no longer play guitar hero on it. But then again, compared to the fullsized version it's not all that great. But that's a different review :) All in all I think it was worth it, being about the same price as I bought my DSL and having solved one of the key issues I had with the DS and the DSL. Intergrating the browser was also another smart move along with SD functionality.

For anyone interested in how long this model of Nintendo lasts, look no further! I've had this for four years now and as long as it sees the case every time it's not being used it lasts like new all the way along. It's more of a novelty of course now as more advanced (though not better in my opinion) models have come out since. But for a bit of an old style game when I have a spare hour it really can't be beaten. The spare stylus came in handy just last year when I finally lost the original, I was glad it served a purpose, and the buttons hold up very nicely. The cartridge slot at the back has not lost any of its connection and so all my original games I bought with it still work perfectly. The matte black finish has many scratches but this is to be expected, overall I am impressed that the integrity of the hard shall is still strong. As well as the cartridge slot the other ports also retain connection like new. So although it's a dinosaur in the scheme of things, I'm still as happy with it as I was the day I nought it, even if it only sees use once every few months now.

The Nintendo DSi brings a cool level of interactivity to your DS. You can now record sounds and take photos - both front and back - with your DS! On the downside, it only plays DS games - it cannot play old style games. Nintendo DSi Review Rather than giving you a lot of cold statistics that you can find on the many marketing sites out there, let me instead give you my actual, personal observations after playing and using this DS. We have owned pretty much every version of a Nintendo handheld that has come out over the years and avidly enjoy them. This Nintendo DSi is definitely a worthy successor to this line. For players of older games, it's important to note the DSi only plays DS style games, not any older games. That is quite fine by me. There are a TON of DS games out at this point and many older games are compiled onto DS format. If you really want to play an older style game, get one of those older style units. The units are very cheap at this point. The focus of the DSi on only DS games means it is light, thin, and very easy to use. The DSi has TWO cameras - one facing forwards, one facing backwards. This means you can easily take photos of yourself and friends! We had a ton of fun taking photos of each other, of our pets, and using all of their morphing and kaleidoscope features to make great images out of them. You can save the images to a SD card for use on your computer and printing out. I love the microphone tools. You can record 10 second blurbs and add harmonies, raise or lower the pitch, and do other operations on them. This is a lot of fun as well. The unit comes to you pre-charged which is awesome. It means you can start playing games the moment you get it. Instant gratification is a good thing! The image size is great, larger than previous DS units. The audio quality is great as well! This really is an awesome handheld gaming unit for all of the latest generation games. I'm really enjoying their easy to use interface, and looking forward to all of the games I'll be able to download wirelessly. It's important to note that the DSi uses a different type of charger than the original DS, so the two aren't interchangeable. The DSi of course comes with its own charger so you don't have to worry about buying one. It also comes with an extra stylus. I am really enjoying the DSi. You might say "it's only a little brighter, only a little larger, only a little lighter." However, when you're talking about a tiny unit that fits on your hand, it is often those tiny improvements that make a huge difference. The small lightness boost makes it easier to hold and carry in a full purse. The brightness and better sound give that much more fun to the gaming experience. While some might scoff at the microphone and camera, both are great fun. The higher quality sound means I can actually now use this as a MP3 player! It uses AAC format. This is a standard format and there are free converters out there if you tend to use MP3 or other formats. To summarize, I love this unit. If you don't have any DS unit I would definitely get this one rather than one of the previous DS units. If you already have a DS or DS Lite I'd recommend giving those to a younger sibling or friend, and getting a new DSi for yourself.
