Fantastic Support in the Shower
I received one grab bar and it was faulty - kept falling off the shower wall. I wrote in about it and they immediately sent me another. I love it. It offers great security and sticks so hard it is difficult to take off even when I want to. I would recommend this product to anyone who needs more hold-on security while showering. This grabber bar has worked well for about 2 years. Now, however, it no longer keeps it's suction and falls off the wall each time I shower. However, we would still recommend it fortwo years.

Does not work
Bar came loose after multiple attempts to put in on shower wall, then came loose from the wall outside of shower. The free bath mat slipped all over the bathtub and was worse then the bare tub floor. I would not recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a safe support. Purchased a metal bar support and attached it to the studs. Half the price, works great and is safe to use.

This works great!
I was worried when I ordered this that it would be too flimsy and fall off the tub surround. I purchased this one and a permanent option. I put this on the side of a fiberglass tub surround and it was amazingly sturdy. Happily surprised. A great option that can be moved around for various reasons. An older person in need, helping littles in and out of a bath, or when one has an injury and needs a little helping hand to avoid slipping. Great easy option

worked fine at first.....
This product worked very well for almost two years and suddenly is fading... suction no longer works and I am afraid to use it- let alone take a shower without it. Not even two years yet (Jan 22) and I do not think it should fail so quickly. I am looking for another to buy and very disappointed this one didn't last. Perhaps buying an even better one is key. ??? Bought two, both are no good.

Surface must be smooth, clean and wet
For those having problems keeping their grab bar on a tiled wall you can try this...Suction tends to work best on non-porous surfaces (i.e. the less air holes on the tile, the better). So to fill those little air pockets, its best to use water or petroleum jelly. If you got smooth tile, water can work. If you got rougher grainy tile, petroleum jelly can work too.On first installation, just after 1 hour, my grab bar fell off. Then, I put it back on and it fell off around an hour again. My impression was, this was on pretty darn tight! My tile is very smooth too. So I figured, there's air entering into the suction cup very slowly over time. After I scrubbed hard on the tile surface and the suction cups **keeping the tile surface wet**, I attached it again firmly on my tile bathroom wall. It hasn't fallen off for two days now.The handle grip itself isn't all that big. I measured it and its 12". I really wish this was much bigger because while you shower, you move around. This should really be at least 24".The shower mat is good. Sticks well, however, because its rolled up, along the edges it may be kinked. Best to lay it on the bathroom floor and step on it to remove the kinks. Although the ad doesn't show its full size, the size of the mat is pretty big at 39" x 15.5".

Would never buy again. Junk.
I was so surprised when I received this hollow device that had dust or something between the suction cup and was a super light grab bar. I compared it to the Moen I have in my other shower and it didn’t even compare as far as quality and suction. I bought this as my tiles are small (moen requires larger tiles) but I won’t be able to use this now. I would never put my or anyone’s life into trusting this thing would hold anyone up. I resorted to buying another and thought I’d just use this for shaving. But 3rd time I used it with a foot barely in it and one plunger slipped down n I almost fell. It is smaller than others but not worth someone getting hurt as they rely on it. Plastic mat is ok but holds water so it must be pulled up each time otherwise I believe mildew would form. Poor poor quality. Gave it 3starts for comfort cuz the grip is good and it’s smaller than others.

Does not stick for more than two minutes!
Do not waste your time or money. I purchased these to put in the shower. The surface of my shower is smooth untextured tiles that measure 10 inches by 14 inches so there is plenty of room for the bars to adhere without touching the grout lines. I have tried to adhere them to the clean shower in every situation I can think of... wet, dry, every which way. They NEVER stay in place! This is very disappointing. The instructions are very clear, and the product is easy to use, but they just plain do not work. If I could give zero stars I would. Do not buy!

Love The Extra Independence It Gives Me
I have a metal grab bar on the wall right outside the fiberglass that surrounds the inside of my bath/shower to hold onto when getting in and out of the tub but it's too much of a pain to install one on the inside beside my shower seat. This one worked out perfectly for me so I have sometime to grab onto when moving around on the shower seat or to help me stand up since it just attaches to the wall with a suction grip.Biggest thing to know and remember is that it has to be taken off and reattached every two days to keep the suction grip strong so it doesn't come loose and fall off when you need to pull on it to get up or move. It's super simple to take off and reattach in less than a minute so it's not big deal. Since I get showered every other day, I just take it off and put it back up each time I get into the shower. This allows me to be a bit more independent and not need my caregiver for each movement I need to make while in the shower. She's still there but, hey, I like to do as much on my own for as long as I can manage it.The bath mat that comes with this support is a really nice one. It's longer than the one I was using giving me more safety while in the tub. It's clear so it goes with any bathroom decor.

More hazardous then safe
I would not recommend this shower Handel. It did not stick to our tiled shower well we can not use it. More hazardous then safe.

Works well for stability- wouldn’t put a lot of weight on it though
Bath mat was a good bonus.

unreliable
They are unreliable to use for safety, they do not hold very well.

Unsafe.
I bought this Dr Maya suction grab bar with a non-slip bath mat. The bath mat is fine but the Dr Maya suction grab bar is very dangerous. I tried it first over our upstairs bath which has tiled walls. I was careful that each suction pad was in the middle of a tile and I fixed the grab bar in accordance with the Dr Maya instructions. However while I was showering I held onto the grab bar but it moved and started to slide. I tried it on many occasions and in different positions but the same thing happened. I did not complain initially because we were waiting to have a walk in downstairs shower installed with Fibo shower panels on the walls. This has recently been completed and in the last week I have tried the Dr Maya suction grab bar again. To my disappointment the same problem aroseI have now lost confidence in the product and would warn other customers not to purchase this particular product.
