My favorite watercolor pencils are just too cost prohibitive for the 72 pack (Albrecht Dürer) so I tried these and I really like them! These blend easily and there is a satisfying selection of colors. I always wish there was this color or that color, no matter what set I buy, but there is a very good variety. A couple of the pencils arrived with broken tips but the pencils sharpened nicely and it seems the leads are intact. When I was a kid getting the Cr@yola 64 pack was a treat. This is a similar feeling. I haven't used the enclosed sharpener as I have one I already like and I haven't used the 2 enclosed brushes either. I purchased this set for $15.99 and that seems to be a good value. I noticed the price fluctuates.

I like that so many of the pencils are labeled with names I recognize from my tube and pan watercolors (such as Cadmium Yellow, Titanium White, Cadmium Red, Prussian Green, Ultramarine Light, Orange Lake, etc.) although many of them are more proprietary or less specific names (Kalour--the brand--Green, Turquoise, etc.) and at least one of them may be a confusion in translation ("Viridium" rather than "Viridian"). With such a big selection, I think they did a good job on making the labels a plus for this enthusiastic but unschooled "dabbler."I was excited to find 72 colors for such a reasonable price--my European import aquarelle crayons included only 12 colors for over half the price of these.I don't have experience with other watercolor pencils to compare, but I did note that some of the colors seemed a bit grainier than the crayons, when I blended them with the included water brush. More granulation is a thing with even some very pricey watercolors, as a quality of the pigments used, and this may not be a quality issue. I also found that I was not able to completely rinse the very tip of the water brush free of one of the colors I was blending with it. I will be a little more mindful of not getting the various pigments on my clothing if I can't count on them to completely rinse out.If I run into issues with sharpening the pencils, I will update to reflect that, but unless it makes them difficult to use for more than the initially exposed portion of the pencils, I call this a solid 4 stars, and recommend them for students, kids, and other non-professionals. They seem like treasure for a dabbler like me.

This is a fabulous set of watercolor pencils. With 72 pencils (oddly, mine included only 71) there is a wide assortment of colors. The kit also includes a reservoir waterbrush, a brush and a pencil sharpener. The pencils arrived already sharpened and packaged in a protective cardboard cylinder. In spite of a bit of foam at the top of the cylinder a few were broken, but that was not a problem due to the included sharpener. Although I dabble in watercolor, I haven't used watercolor pencils before and I expect it will take a bit to refine my technique. Like pan watercolors the pencil needs to be activated with water. This can be done either by applying water directly to the tip then using like a pan watercolor or applying to dry paper then wetting, or applying on top of wet paper. Using the pencil gives you more control than a brush and the colors are blendable. The colors in this set are intense and did not fade much. The convenience of using the water brush should make this a fun set to work with and good for travel.

I was very impressed with the appearance of 72 beautiful colors. I find the pencils to be difficult to use consistently. You have to press harder than normal to color and when you get the color on paper and try to blend with water the result is uneven color with lines in it.I tried cardstock and watercolor paper with same result.Not my favorite.

The variety of colors is incredible. It comes with a water brush and a regular brush. The storage container is sturdy and takes up just a small space. And yes, I almost forgot they work great! The colors wash and blend perfectly! At $26 this set is a great value.

Super nice color variation and coverage on the paper. I've adored water color since I was young, and being able to fine tune control it compared to how we did this in art class 35 years ago is making me fall more in love with it again.These are decently good enough for a person like me. I'm sure there are better more "professional" pencils out there you can buy for more but for a casual like me they are great. I do wish it came with a sharpener though as one of the tip was broken when it was first opened. **Update** It does come with a sharpener sorry, mine was just really well hidden. I'm sorry about that.The water brush is good, but the standard brush they give you needs a little attention to become more pliable.Overall it's a great kit with lots of variety and very fun to use.

Rapporto qualità prezzo eccezionale.Mi è piaciuto tantissimo sin da subito tant'è vero che ho acquistato un altro set per regalarlo alla mia figliastra.Oltre alla qualità indiscussa delle matite vorrei parlavi del piccolo tocco di classe di questo set.All'interno del tubo di cartone rigido contenente le matite troverete anche un temperamatite e ovviamente il pennellino per acquerellare e pennello con serbatoio per acqua.Consiglio l'acquisto!Top!

Ho ordinato queste matite acquarellabili per mia mamma, che ama dipingere con tante tecniche diverse. La confezione a forma di tubo rigido mi è piaciuta molto, perché permette un rapido accesso alle matite, senza perdere tempo a sfilarle e ri-infilarle ogni volta negli occhielli dei classici astucci. Il rapporto qualità/prezzo è semplicemente imbattibile: euro 22,99 nel momento in cui scrivo (senza tener conto di sconti o promozioni) è un prezzo ottimo per ben 72 matite, in special modo visti i bei colori vivaci e la resa sul foglio. Acquarellare risulta molto semplice, sia con il pennello con serbatoio fornito che con i propri strumenti; la confezione include anche un secondo pennello e un temperamatite, praticamente tutto ciò che serve per iniziare da subito a dar sfogo alla propria creatività e fantasia. Allego una rapida prova effettuata da mia mamma su un foglio da disegno in modo che possiate rendervi conto dell'ottima qualità dei colori; per quanto mi riguarda, ne consiglio senz'altro l'acquisto, sia come regalo che per se stessi.
