Breakfast packs make quick, convenient, chocolate-y overnight oats.
I ordered these Proper Good PB Chocolate Banana Overnight Oats - Delicious Healthy Breakfast with 15g Protein per Serving - overnight oats packets for my teenage son, in the hopes I could get him to remember to eat breakfasts. My son says his stomach doesn’t wake up for breakfast right away—I get it, mine doesn’t either. But I’ve learned over the years that I need to try to eat something for breakfast, or I’ll crash mid-morning. My kid gets up super early, he’s got a long morning commute on the NYC subway for high school. These overnight oats kits are super easy to use. We have little glass containers for overnight oats, I just put the contents of one of these packs into one and add some almond milk. You can let these sit all night, or at least for four hours. Voila, chocolate and peanut butter! The sales page says these taste like a Reese’s cup, I don’t think it’s quite the same, but that chocolate-y, peanutty flavor is great. It doesn’t take long to eat one of these, which is a plus. Somehow, mornings are always rushed in our house, no matter how much extra time we allow.I tried these, too. I’ve been meaning to get back to overnight oats, the oats are good for heart health. The chocolate-y taste is like dessert for breakfast. At 44 carbs a serving, this is a bit of a treat for me, but these are perfect for my teenager, who spends ten periods running up and down eight flights of stairs (the escalators are down a lot.)I’ve also tucked a couple packs into his briefcase with a plastic spoon and a Tupperware, if he forgets breakfast, he can grab almond milk at the bodega, mix this up, and have it a bit later in the day.At the current price ($34.99 for a pack of ten), these are about $3.50 apiece. Not bad for breakfast, especially one that is nutritious and chocolate. So far, my son’s been eating them, here’s hoping this will get him back into the breakfast habit.

Quality, convenient breakfast; flavor and texture may not please everyone
This is a difficult review for me to write. I've eaten oatmeal for breakfast for years, but always hot and always savory, not sweet. (I like to add soy sauce and plain yogurt for flavoring; definitely unusual, but if you think it's a horrible idea, I challenge you to Google "savory oatmeal".)So in a real sense, this product is the opposite of the oatmeal I like to eat. It's quality stuff; just look at the ingredients list on the product page and you'll see oats, banana, peanuts, and brown sugar, among a few others. It's a short list, which is always desirable in a food product. It's also convenient; just shake it together with milk in a jar and refrigerate. If you're too rushed to eat it the next morning, hey--it's in the refrigerator already, so it'll still be there tomorrow or the next day. It's just that the flavor and texture don't please me. The texture is a little chewy. Sure, oats are always chewy, but the banana chips end up spongy in texture in a way I personally don't like. The chocolate isn't a rich, dark chocolate but more of a cocoa color and taste by the time it mixes with the peanuts and oats.I will eat them over time, but they aren't destined to be a go-to favorite for me. Your mileage may vary. One thing I did find, though: I do like the flavor better if I use 1.5% buttermilk instead of standard milk.

Taste isnt there yet
These overnight oats are a convenient option for a quick breakfast, especially with 15g of protein per serving. The chocolate flavor is nice, and the texture is creamy, making it easy to enjoy. However, I wasn’t a fan of the banana pieces as they felt hard in the morning, maybe they didnt soak well? Even though the banana flavor wasn’t my favorite, the oats are still a good source of protein and keep me feeling full. Overall, they make for a satisfying meal on busy mornings, just keep in mind the banana if that's not your thing.

Nice and easy single-serving packets
Easy to prep, taste good, and it's nice being able to just toss a couple packs in your bag if you're travelling.I highly recommend doing at least a half-cup of milk, 1/3 cup was not good despite what the packaging says. Even with a good shake and letting it sit overnight, it was kinda just a big solid glob closer to cookie dough than oatmeal. The banana was also completely flavorless and the texture was a little off-putting. Even after sitting all night, they were too... crispy? Not sure how to best describe it, but they reconstituted like little cubes of freeze-dried nothing that could have been half-cooked potatoes for all I could tell. Maybe if you heated it up they'd be better, but eating them cold in the morning they were just an odd texture to an otherwise great oatmeal.

Convenient breakfast alternative with a great protein boost
These single-serve packets of Proper Good PB Chocolate Banana Overnight Oats are a convenient way to get a quick, easy breakfast, whether you’re eating at home or taking them on the go. They’re so simple to prepare—the night before you simply mix the oats with milk or perhaps almond milk, give it a shake or stir, cover, and pop it in the fridge. I have containers that are perfect for this, which makes the whole process easy for me.Not only are these oats tasty (if you like chocolate for breakfast), but they’re also really filling, and I love that each serving packs in 15g of protein. Now, as for the taste—it didn’t exactly blow me away, but it was decent. The main flavors are chocolate with hints of banana and brown sugar in the form of little chips, but it’s not overly sweet, which I liked. While they’re enjoyable, I don’t think I’d use them every day, but they’re definitely a nice option to have for a quick breakfast.
