TheBi-directional Control and wireless connection Worked seem less! I needed to check the IM monitors to get ready for a smog and it was able to do this perfectly. I enjoyed the wireless connection too. I've had nothing but positive experiences with Xtool. I own the DS5, the D7, the xtool TPMS tool and ive used all of them without any problems. I will continue to purchase tools from them in the near future since they are reliable and for the price yoy cant go wrong. Also this tool has amazing battery life. The screen is big and the brightness is super bright. If you are a professional or even a DIY mechanic im sure you will enjoy using this device alot. Its fast and also tough. Its surprisingly very light too and it even comes with a case. And a light screen protector. If yoy ever have any problems you can email customer service and they do a great job helping and answering any questions about your problems or if you are just curious about anything. Also relearning the xtool it has so many special functions and I also noticed that on you tube there are many people that have made videos on some of these devices so you can even go there for extra info. I also think exploring the device and using it on different car's can be fun and entertaining. It really does allow you to look deep into all kinds of data. The customer service people can answer all your questions if you want to know what else the device can do and also what it can do for your specific car. Each time I was impressed by its quick and accurate auto-detection. The bidirectional control feature worked flawlessly, allowing me to manually run the electric water pump to purge air from the coolant system after a change on the Prius V. Live data monitoring was excellent and can be exported as a file for reporting. Reports can be generated and emailed as PDF files or printed. I connected the scanner to my Apple laptop and the only thing I could access were pictures I captured the camera on the scanner which might be useful for reporting. My requests for support to Xtool has been very good with response back within 24 hours which met my expectations. I will say I am very impressed with this unit. I have ran many other scanners and this D7W wowed me. First off this uses it's own dedicated wifi signal between the head unit and dongle to increase speed vs using a typical Bluetooth connection. It doesn't require home Wifi to use it, but you will need wifi to update the unit. They are constantly doing updates for new vehicles and features which is a huge plus in my opinion. I temporarily used my phone wifi Hotspot for this and then shut it off after the update was complete. I tested this on multiple vehicles and each one auto connected seamlessly and recognized the VIN. Ran this through a full course of bidirectional tests, ABS bleed, powered windows up and down, injectors, fuel pump, more than I can think of, and live charting. It's fast. This also does key FOB programming which for the price of this pays for itself in one use over taking a car to dealership to program a FOB. The unit comes in a very durable case with multiple power plugs for different countries. It did arrive with 0% charge which I did expect as batteries are not to be shipped fully charged. It charged in about an hour and I did some very in depth testing with this for about 3 hours and the battery life hardy drew anything. I powered it down when putting away and when I turned it on later the battery was still where I left it. All in all I definitely recommend this for the price point and like I previously stated if you ever need to do a FOB program it literally pays for itself in one or two uses. Would purchase again.

Poor compatibility with 1998 GMC 4.3 and 2001 Ford 7.3 Diesel. Was really slow communicating. Couldn't recognize VINs. Could not communicate for bi directional testing. Did not recognize any individual system selections. Received messages saying this feature is not yet available many of the times I tried to view live data on any system. My old Creader pulled the B codes on the GMC no problem, this gave the all clear on SIR system. Could not command fuel pump, systems, or buzz test the diesel. Did not test with either of my newer vehicles.

I've had a few basic OBD2 readers with limited functionality but after reading some online reviews decided to grab a more advanced tool for more advanced diagnostics and repairs. This thing is super cool. It's an android tablet with XTool's built in diagnostics app that allows for full scan of your vehicle with the click of a button. You can program key fobs and reset all sorts of codes. It's two way meaning it can send data to your vehicle. The reader itself connects wirelessly from the vehicle to the tablet. It's super easy to use and has so many features I can't cover them all here.

Works great, just tried it on my 2010 Honda crv and I was able to do any bidirectional control I wanted to. It was able to read any dtc’s and clear them too. I wasn’t able to find another scan tool for the money that was able to do everything that this one can. The battery came dead, but charges fast. The tablet is a good size and rests on the steering wheel perfectly. The wireless function is great, I’m able to sit at the kitchen table while it’s plugged into the car with the dongle. One tip is to make sure you set up the units of measure or it may change the cars unit of measure. Overall a great scan tool and customer service was easy to get ahold of and fast to answer any questions.

The product do. es most of what it is supposed to do. It is fairly fast. I had no issues with connectivity. However, I was trying to reset a hybrid system on a crashed 2023 RAV4 and while it connected to the car, it would only tell me the car had "detected the crash" and would not let me proceed. It would not say why. I had to tow the dealer to the dealer to reset the codes. I contacted Xtool for help, but never received a reply. In the end it was not the machine's inability to get the car started but the lack of support that gives it 3 stars. On other vehicles the machine worked well, though the user interface is a little clunky and complicated. It is not terrible, just not intuitive. I suppose in time I will get used to the user interface. Still on that point, I would NOT have deducted a star. I also think if the machine cannot reset a code, such as the crash code, then it should clearly state it cannot perform that function so your not left wondering if it is the machine or you causing the issue.
