Another great pick for your camping or emergency kit
I live in a semi-rural area with poor power reliability, so I’m always on the lookout for battery powered lights to keep around the house. And with hurricane brewing in the Gulf of Mexico right now, the arrival of this product is really good timing wise.I’m impressed with what all you get in a compact and not too heavy package. I have yet to verify the claimed 18 day lifespan of the light at its lowest brightness, but in my casual testing so far, it seems possible. The hook/stand/handle allows for tons of options of mounting or orientation where needed. Charging is via a USB-C port but you also get a hand crank for when you really are in a jam and need light. There is also a USB-A output for charging other devices, so theoretically, you could stay lit and have a decently charged phone indefinitely in a real emergency. The case is a decently thick plastic that seems up to the task of withstanding most bumps and drops but I wouldn’t use it as a wheel chock. The LED matrix has a translucent lens to disperse the light and cut down on harshness.Nothing glamorous, just a solid piece of multi functional kit for when you need it.

Nice light but gimmicky hand-crank
I like this light, but I'm having a bit of a hard time justifying $30 for it. This feels like more of a White Elephant-kind of gift.I like the 3-mode light memory, dimming adjustability (stepless and 10-step) and color temp selections of the LED lamps - very nice. The stepless function adjusts way too fast and seems unnecessary compared to the 10-step button press option. The light has a 6400mAh Li-ION battery inside. All Li-ION batteries will self-discharge over time, meaning you should expect to have to maintain this device (recharge the battery) every few months if you want the battery to last. If you allow the built-in battery to self-discharge or fade to 0V, it will be chemically damaged and may start to swell and fail to charge again - so don't think you'll get away with just "throwing this in your emergency kit until you need it" and then expect it to work just fine 3 years from now when your power goes out. <battery lesson> Li-ION batteries need periodic maintenance and do not like to stay plugged into a charger 100% of the time, and they don't tolerate recovery when they reach 0V and chemically degrade. </battery lesson>The hand crank works but seems outdated and gimmicky - because there are backup batteries everywhere, and the idea that anyone would "prefer" to crank this for 3 minutes to get 5 minutes of light (at max brightness) seems a bit flimsy. Even so, the capability is there, and there are definitely some corner cases where the hand crank functionality might be welcomed. The light doesn't support any flavor of USB power delivery - either in or out. It's basically only a "dumb" USB charger, meaning you'll get no more than 3A max out of the Type-A or Type-C port. Still, 15W isn't terrible, but it's going to take a while to push that 6400mAh battery into your cell phone. Additionally, if you had any thoughts about using the hand crank to charge your phone, think again:If the LEDs will work for 7 hours at maximum brightness when the battery is fully charged, and the LEDs will work for 5 minutes when hand cranked for 3 minutes, that means that it would take about ~4.2 hours of hand cranking to fully charge the built-in battery:((7 hours x 60 min per hour) / 5 minutes of light) * 3 minutes of hand cranking = 252 minutes (or 4.2 hours) of hand cranking to charge the battery to "full", or about 25mAh of charge generated every 3 minutes. Woof! Happy cranking! My last concern relates to end-of-life and recyclability. This device is sealed shut, greatly complicating recyclability and removal of that 6400mAh battery when it reaches end of life. Electronics should be easy to recycle (especially ones with built-in batteries), and this is just yet another Chinese electronics atrocity that will end up whole in a landfill, battery & all. I would have liked to have been able to disassemble the device is recycle it properly when the time comes, but it's clearly not designed to take apart.

No More Fumbling Around in the Dark
[Check the attached pic for the right size]This JOYEKY Rechargeable Camping Lantern is a must-have for anyone who enjoys outdoor activities or needs a reliable emergency light source. The sheer brightness is impressive, offering multiple levels of white, warm white, and cool white light. The SOS feature is a lifesaver in emergency situations, and the hand crank design provides a handy backup charging option.I was particularly impressed by the lantern's versatility. It's not just for camping; it's equally useful for home emergencies, trekking, and general outdoor activities. The long-lasting battery and multiple charging options ensure you're always prepared. While the brightness is a major advantage, it's important to note that looking directly at the light on its highest setting can be uncomfortable. It's best to avoid doing so.Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with this camping lantern. It's a durable, reliable, and feature-packed device that's perfect for anyone who needs a powerful and versatile light source.

Good brightness, hand crank is a life saver
First thing I did was test this light's ability to act as a power bank and with a capacity tester it rated at 3400 mah which is below the expected 75% of listed claims due to conversion to 5v. The light itself is of great brightness and the hand crank works quite well. This is the perfect light for emergencies and disasters. Keep in mind the actual capacity is below the average expected meaning the cells are not of great quality. Overall would still recommend it if you are in a natural disaster zone.
