Just FANTASTIC!
The Nokia Streaming Box 8000 is super easy to set up, as is the excellent included dual Bluetooth/IR backlit Google Voice Remote Control. I have an amazon 4K Fire Stick and a 4K Zidoo Android Media Box, and the Nokia is much better than both! The Nokia Streaming Box 8000 is faster and much more responsive, with an excellent 4K picture and audio on all apps. What is not so hot is the 100mbps LAN, but the WiFi is super fast. There is only one USB-A 3 port for media (which can also used a to add dedicated memory), and a USB-C port which can only be used for charging devices, or for adding the optional Satellite or Terrestrial TV Adapters. Tip: use the included Nokia HDMI cable, otherwise you might experience stuttering and crashes as I did when plugged into the Philips Hue Play HDMI Sync Box. All was resolved when I connected both with the Nokia HDMI cable, and now sync beautifully! Chromecast is built in! And there is a digital remote for smartphone or tablet. So far, I am delighted with with the Nokia Streaming Box 8000, and at the current price of £51.51 (originally £120) it is an absolute bargain!

Quality product with genuine Google certification.
Great remote that lights up, but is well built and weighted. Strangely it doesn't have a mouse switch, instead I connected a bluetooth mouse which worked a treat, when required. Box itself is quality and I found it to be quick and smooth. It updated immediately, both firmwares to box and remote. The hardware is limited to only one usb 3 port and has no sd card slot but I used a SD card to USB adapter and the SD card reformatted to shared storage. Every thing but BBC iplayer, 4 player, ITVX and Virgin TV Go seemed to be available but I installed the mobile versions of these using Downloader and these work perfectly well but BBC iplayer and Virgin need the mouse. Obviously if you have those apps on your phone the chromecast feature is amazingly good. I recommend the HERE browser I came across with my TCL TV it works brilliantly on this box especially with the mouse but not essential. Highly recommended, best box I have bought so far.

Very Much Worth Considering
Nokia 8000: Google Certified The price point of the device is comparable to the Fire stick 4k max 2gen. The Nokia 8000 leaves you with 4.5 gig on first boot. Additional storage can be added easily 32 gig sandisk USB tested would be enough as an addition to external storage. Sandisk Storage: manufactured by Western Digital. Out of the box you have all you need and the 8000 boots at Android 10. It will then up date to Android 12. The stock os is Google TV. It achieves Developer so side loading is not an issue. It achieves ADB and mouse toggle. It would achieve Launcher for the personal touch. Tduk Cache Cleaner and app Killer achieved. BBC iPlayer however is not in its app store is not shown but can be achieved with version 0.4.7-dev. I can advise who has this. One of the cons is channel 4 or all 4 is not available and cannot be achieved as the application was only developed from channel 4 for Amazon devices and mobile. Device orientation app was tested with mobile version but failed to adjust launch orientation and show on the application tile screen. The remote is featured and had has good function. The 8000 almost achieves shield likeness but does not have the ports. You would need to go for the Nokia 8010 as the ports and onboard storage increases. So damn good that I bought two of them!
Where to start with the Nokia 8000 Android TV box? In short; It's a fully customizable, rapidly fast, fully unrestricted, vanilla stock Android 10 TV box with an absolute plethora of of top-end features that rival other brand name Android TV devices that cost 3 times the price. With the premium & feature-rich included remote conttol, a simple "five click" button press on the software version number in the settings menu, the Nokia 8000 allows you into the enable "Developer Mode". From here-on-in, anyone with basic Android and technical knowledge can then begin to side-load Android apps and fully unlock your device's true endless potential. For advanced and experiential users such as myself, this box is ideal for both Kodi & Plex media streaming, IPTV applications such as AceStream and can even be used with community-made apps such as SmartTube (formally SmartTubeNext) allowing you to watch ad-free and uninterrupted YouTube content straight from your livingroom TV. As with all Android TV boxes, you can also access the "unofficial" app stores that open up your device to other "less ethical" practises but if you're in this market for an Android TV box and at this level of user experence then you will already know what I am alluding to... However, if you're the person that just wants to simply watch Smart TV without any compromises, sign-in to your favourite streaming apps and watch TV by pick up a top-shelf Android TV box that does everything you will ever need it to do and more, then this Nokia 8000 box is your number one choice! With the next-best rival to this stunning Nokia Androit TV box being the £130 Nvidia Shield TV, whether you are a novice Android user with limited technical knowledge or the most diehard tech genius, I couldn't reccomended this box more to anyone...

COULD BE GREAT BUT BADLY LET DOWN
This could have been a 5 star rating, but for a few very irritating "features" that could so easily have been avoided - then it would be a very different story. As it is, it drops 4 stars for; > To start, the box I received is an Indian version. As far as I can tell from configuring it, there is no easy way to change the region, despite how I have android configured. This is really annoying because all the adverts/suggestions seem to be for indian movies and shows, half of which are written in an alphabet I can't even read, and as others have said, region-specific apps such as iPlayer and itvx are not available. This feels like a major failing either by Nokia and/or Google. Not sure who to blame but whoever is responsible for the regional settings being firmware-based, you've severely limited this product when the default settings could be set by the country of the google account... like they are on android phones. -2 stars for this as it's so illogical and nothing in the description indicates Indian firmware. > The box has a tendency to go non-responsive and not switch on with the TV, requiring unplug/replug to resume working (there's no on/off on the actual box). This doesn't happen often, probably once every 2-3 weeks, but it is annoying. -1 star for this. > In some ways the remote is good, for instance being backlit is a nice feature, even if the backlighting isn't very even and I suspect won't work forever given the general build quality (it doesn't feel that sturdy). But it isn't intuitive and seemingly lacks even the option to return to the main TV function despite being correctly paired with my TV. That means if you want to go to a different source for TV for example, you still need your TV remote, which in my case has managed to learn a lot more of the Nokia box's functions, so the Nokia's remote seems almost redundant. It's a shame but it just isn't well designed, I guess consistent with the device's firmware. So -1 for this too. The regional thing is really a killer here. While personally I don't need it for that and was able to side-load the apps I did want, I think for the average user, that really will limit the appeal of this box. The build quality and remote issues only compound this. Being in the mid-range for this type of product, price-wise, I'd have expected a better product, especially from Nokia (although I'm fully aware this is a rebadged chinese box).

No iPlayer or CH4 but still excellent value and much better than a Fire stick
Very simple set up, nice interface, very smooth operation. Great quality streaming, picture and sound. I have HDMI connecting to a projector and audio out to an old but good stereo. It makes our fire stick seem incredibly clunky in comparison. This replaced a ten year old WD Live TV box which was once ahead of it's time but it's now obsolete, so this Nokia box really has revived our home cinema. I've always been a bit of a Nokia fan and this is a good example of why. Build quality is excellent it's very small, has plenty of port options and the remote control is the best I've ever owned: Neatly laid out, slim but with a bit of weight to it and the buttons are backlit. It may not have iPlayer or ch4 but you can always cast them, although the picture quality isn't so good but the sound's in sync. I use it mostly for Plex in order to stream films from my PC. Would recommend this without hesitation.

Solid hardware and software let down by lack of UK terrestrial TV apps
I must start off by saying that the box looks and runs great, and the remote is possibly the best smart TV box remote I've ever used. Stock Android TV is my personal favourite OS for a streaming device, with a great interface and access to the Google Play Store a real plus. The unfortunate issue with this box is that a number of apps I consider essential are unavailable. BBC, Channel 4, ITV - none of these apps are available to download. Whilst they can technically be sideloaded, they either don't run at all or run but explain that they are not available for the device. It's a great shame, and an issue that is more the fault of the respective broadcasters than Nokia, however it does significantly reduce the utility of this box compared to Amazon's offerings. If you don't plan on using any of these apps then this box is an amazing item for the price, but for me and I'm sure for many others this is a downside that too severely impacts the usefulness of the product.
