A Valuable Early Years Toy Worth Having
I really like wooden toys and toys that have a purpose that assist early concepts. As a teacher over the years I’ve used shape sorters when developing shape and colour vocabulary alongside matching and sorting. So, the Wootoyz shape board is a classic!I find that young children like simple puzzles and this works well to simply find what fits together on the board, what colours are the same, what shapes are the same. As they begin to explore and understand, you can direct children to make shapes that are recognisable such as a house with a square and a triangle. Repeating patterns circle square, red, yellow etc. Definitely old school; tactile, cooperative, rich concept language.Price is about right (£11.99) for a wooden toy and if I had little one’s again in the house, we’d have plenty of fun playing language and maths games. Showed it some families at a community cafe I visit and it garnered interest. So, why not give it a go? You might be surprised what you can do with a low tech toy that requires no batteries and a cooperative 1 to 1 relationship.

Great for improving motor skills.
Love that this is made out of wood. Didn’t notice any roughnesses on the surface and would say the finish is great overall. The colours are quite vivid and will definitely be attractive to toddlers.I feel toys like these are great for improving logic and motor skills in children without breaking the bank. Will definitely recommend.

Lovely sorting toy
Puzzle toys like this are excellent for helping babies develop recognition skills and hand eye coordination. The wooden base has peg sticking up that you slot shapes onto, The trick is to work out which shape goes over which pegs. You can encourage your child by saying the name of the shape and then getting them to trace that shape with their fingers where the pegs are. It's a good toy for parents to engage with a child, Repetition of finding where the shapes go really helps a child solidify its head, shape names and colours. The toy is really well-made, The wooden parts are all beautifully smooth and finish to a high standard and it feels very sturdy. You can also use the flat shapes to make pictures on the ground by putting them together to make familiar objects. It's good value for money and would make a wonderful gift.

well made and great fun for little kids
This is a simple classic games for small children, where they learn to put shapes into the correct place - no square pegs and round holes allowed in this game. The pieces are all well made and should last a long time even in the hands of little kids. This is a great way for adults to infect with children - helping them with where to put the pieces and using the game to help them learn colours and shapes too. This is well made and great fun for little kids

Great quality, sturdy and great for development
This is a great resource to support both maths skills and hand-eye coordination skills. The base feels strong and durable and the pegs haven't come loose so far, like on some I've previously had.The colours are a bit too bright and over stimulating in my opinion, but it doesn't affect the quality. The pieces are wide enough, they stack up and fit nicely in children's hands for them to use with ease.Overall I'd say it's a great product at a reasonable price.

Educational and good value
I am reviewing a wooden shape sorter toy, priced £9.99 at time of ordering.Generally this toy seems well made and well finished, but there is a small imperfection in one of the pieces. This set has five different coloured shapes, in five different colours, each with one to five holes. The pieces slide on and off the pegs easily. The box says this is suitable for children 1 year and over and this seems correct.I have deducted one star as the image on the box shows pink circles, not the orange ones you actually get, and the text on it is very poorly translated, both of which makes this less attractive as a gift.
