The amount of beard butters, balms, oils, you name it, that i have bought is crazy when looking for that good scent.I say that to mention that this brand with the American scent offered, is easily at the top of the list for the most reactions and questions i get from people even through hours of warehouse maintenance. Ill have people asking what im wearing 10hrs into shift. Its a brilliant smell that isnt overwhelming by any means but holds strong to the scent.I have a shelf in my room and a shelf in the bathroom dedicated to everything beard and this brand/scent looks to always be replaced when even close to empty.The butter melts in the hands easy and covers a generous amount compared to other brands tried before. A strong buy/pass recommendation comes from the fact that it adds a good amount of shine when applied and keeps my beard oiled to my liking throughout hours of sweat without clumping up as I’ve experienced in the past.Strong buy.

I bought this unscented version to make my own beard butter. I had two Creed colognes that I could never wear as they were too strong for my wife. I took half the butter out of the jar, put it into another jar, and mixed some cologne in each bottle. Bingo! Custom Creed-scented beard butter that I could wear daily that wasn't too strong. And each jar has kept it's scent just fine. Love it when a plan comes together!

Beard butters are meant to moisturize beard hair and the skin underneath. Almost like an oil but a little easier to apply, they should offer very little hold to the beard. This product is definitely not a butter, it is a balm. In fact, it is the stickiest balm I've ever tried. So I'm taking away one star for that misrepresentation or misclassification. To be fair, the label does state "light to medium hold", which suggests the manufacturer has a different definition of "butter" than is commonly accepted.That said, this is a great balm. It is a little difficult to apply, but it leaves my beard feeling very soft, well-controlled, and looking full. The scent is strong but quite pleasant and easily passes the girlfriend test. I hope when I buy it again next month the quality stays this high.

The product lays the wild hairs down and makes the beard look sharp.

I love this stuff, but be aware... if you live in the South, it will arrive in liquid form. It has a VERY low melting point, and it can't take the summer heat. I've ordered from both Ama and the seller directly and each time it shows up melted. Both times, the container leaked some. They had enclosed it in a plastic wrap, which helped contain it, but it still came out. The paper/foil seal in side the lid failed, and I guess the plastic threads just couldn't contain the liquid. It wasn't a TON of liquid that came out, but enough to be quite messy. After a few hours inside, it goes back to solid form no problem. Still an awesome product though.

I bought the 1880 scent after watching a YouTube review video from one of my favorite beard product reviewers. This was my first purchase of a live bearded product. Overall, the product is decent. Most butters that I use don't have much hold to them, but this butter, while very soft and easy to scoop, feels more like a lightweight balm when you rub it in to your hands and apply it. It's got a decent amount of tackiness to it and it does a decent job at keeping my beard in place. The bottle is nice and large and a decent enough amount for the price, but I do find I use a little more of this product than I do other butters I have, so it will probably last me as long as a smaller tin of a competitors product would. The scent here is the only real turn off for me. It's very hard to describe, but bourbon scented beard products are some of my favorite smells and I also have quite a few citrus scents as well. I dont get those two smells coming through on this product like I would have hoped for. It seems very "bitters" heavy to me. Or maybe it's just the combination of the three, but I am really not a fan of the scent. I do like the product itself and I will definitely give live bearded another chance with a different scent in the future, but for me, I wouldn't purchase the 1880 scent again.

The product truly smells unique and feels really great in the beard! A must buy!
