Disappointed in the condition of the book.The ‘black line’ on the text-block mentioned on the Amazon website is very thick (much thicker than usual on overstock-copies), thus ‘bleeding’ on and damaging the top of most pages inside & therefore (in ourview) way overpriced. What a pity.

delighted to receive this book for xmas but it needed to be much larger - coffee table size - to really appreciate the works of art and had it been larger surely there would have be no need for the tiny dense print which makes reading so uncomfortable unless you have perfect vision and are under a bright light! What a shame...

As a bibliophile and book collector, I have a number of art books showing beautiful libraries. Until now, however, I had never come across a book like this one. It is a collection of artwork whose main theme is persons reading.In all I honesty, I enjoyed this much more than I expected to. The artwork is varied in time and style, and is well-selected. There is a valuable opening essay and a number of the pieces have descriptive paragraphs attached. There are quotes about reading scattered through the pages. I expect this is a book I will dip into time and again.

Expecting comments on each paintings, this book just shows the paintings without any constructive nor critical comments on them. Very disappointed and regretted buying this book.

Besides the cool concept of art for book lovers, this is a beautifully constructed book from the cloth like cover to the thick pages. I first saw this in an art museum gift shop but didn’t want to pay full price and was glad to find it for sale on Amazon. It’s perfect for any art or book lover, which is why I even bought another copy for my friend who is an artist and librarian.
