Comfortable over all terrains
Right from the first walk, great fit and breathable too. Not totally waterproof in a deluge but a heavy shower..yes. Had these for 6 months now, rock solid performance 👍🏻

Very comfortable and hardwearing.
Bought a pair of these just over a year ago. I wear them mainly for walking my dog over pavements, fields and hills etc. They are very comfortable, which is something I need due to my age (70) and having arthritis. I usually walk between 5-8 miles a day in them with little or no discomfort. I have just recently bought another pair. Although my year-old ones are still in excellent condition, they will wear out eventually and I thought I'd get a new pair now just in case they become unavailable later.Tough, waterproof and comfortable. Highly recommended.

Boring but do the job
I've had a few pairs of these over the past 5-6 years. I use them all the time for walking, general day to day activities outside and they don't leak at all although I'm not wading through deep puddles. Heavy rain, snow, car washing etc etc they're fine. Sadly the black pair were the cheapest and I do find them very boring but they're very comfortable, warm and do the job perfectly at a good price. As some reviews say in the first few days of use the soles are quite slippery but once you've done a few miles on concrete the friction on the soles makes them nice and secure. Would highly recommend. I'm a size ten and go for the 10.5 in this model.

Great Price for Quality Product
I’ve had numerous pairs of these in a range of colours. Never managed to get a pair at this price though! Wear these as an everyday shoe - durable in all seasons, really comfortable and versatile enough to wear casually to the shop/pub or walking up a hill.

MOAB or mother of all boots? Not really. These are shoes, not boots. So they are waterproof. I walk through mud, puddles and in rain and they keep my feet dry. But water can ingress over the tops and waterproof is not 100% watertight. They are breathable, supple and very comfortable and I use my shoes for all but the harshest or muddiest conditions here in the temperate Surrey Hills of southern England. You should order a 1/2 size up on your usual size. That's my experience and I'm on my 4th pair now. They are not perfect. My previous pair only lasted 2 years before perished leather on the sides started to perish (and allow water ingress). I cover at least 3 or 4 miles daily dog walking as well as much longer walks from time to time. Previously I was more of a weekend walker and they lasted 3-5 yearsThe soles, though generally grippy, can be slippy on certain surfaces, so if you're scrambling on smooth rock - or walking to work on smooth paving with many manholes in wet weather - perhaps research alternatives?A great boot for the keen, amateur walker and surprisingly inexpensive for the quality.

Excellent shoes
The best waterproof walking/trecking shoes I’ve bought. Flexible but protective soles, very comfortable.

Nice but flawed
I've had these around the month and only really used them a few times.. I almost returned them but missed the return window. So they're very lightweight and so far the waterproofing has held up, although I've not really put it to the test. They're very comfortable on my feet except for one very annoying problem:When you tie them up properly (i.e. you're going to walk on something you don't want to slip on), the tongue digs into the top of your foot. This seems to come from a design flaw. There is a fold where the waterproof lining meets the tongue which, when you lace them up snuggly, they form like a hard pipe which digs straight into the top of your foot on both sides. I've managed to find a way to invert the fold so they side above the tongue, but it's quite awkward to poke it into place every time you lace up the shoes.Just a bit of padding would probably have stopped this problem, although I'm hoping it'll soften with wear over time. Otherwise I really like the shoes, assuming the waterproofing holds up to the claims.. but this design flaw really lets them down.

Not recommended - purchase the leather version or look for a different shoe.
This is the third pair of these shoes I've had within 12 months due to poor manufacturing, and in my view, unsuitable materials to make the product.I bought these as I needed a pair of Goretex shoes that I could use for my cycling commute, as well as for easy country walks and around town. I suffer from over pronation and the heel and arch support in the Moab was something I was specifically looking for in a walking shoe. I've also owned Merrell's shoes before and have been very pleased with their quality, comfort and durability, the last pair having lasted years of hard use.Out of the box they seem well made and robust, however, on the first pair that Amazon sent me it was noticeable that where the sole met the sides of the shoe, the adhesive hadn't bonded correctly and was coming away. I notified Amazon who immediately arranged the return and dispatched a new pair, which arrived the following day.The second pair faired a little better but unfortunately after just under12 months of light, to moderate use, the rubber toe cap began to split along the outside stitching line on both shoes. This appears to be a recurring problem with this shoe as I note that other reviewers have had similar issues and posted pictures of the split toecap. I'm relieved to say that Amazon honoured the 12 month guarantee and once again arranged for the return of the damaged shoes and sent me a new pair, which I hope will actually be up to Merrell's usual quality. For those that are still reading this, just a few things for you to note prior to making any purchase. In relation to sizing, this is the second type of Merrell shoes I've owned. I am a UK size 10 in shoes but have bought a size 11 in Merrell's, which have been a perfect fit for me. One other thing to mention is that the soles do slide on hard wet surfaces such as rock or well worn concrete but do have decent grip on softer ground. The Goretex liner is excellent and does keep the feet dry.As I've stated, due to my over-pronation I require a support shoe, and I can't fault these in that regard. They have been comfortable out of the box and my feet have felt fine even after long walks over mixed terrain. In conclusion, would I recommend these to a friend who was in the market for a walking shoe? Unfortunately not. For a respected brand it's difficult to see how Merrell have let slip on manufacturing processes and quality control as well as using materials that just don't appear to be up to the job. In hindsight I should probably have bought the leather version of these shoes, which if you are intent on buying a pair of Moab 2 shoes, would probably be a better bet. Otherwise look at a completely different brand and don't become one of the minority who have been badly let down by buying this product.

Very comfortable shoe
Always been a fan of the company. I'm hard on shoes because of my line of work. Merrell has been my go to because they last. They look good are light for a hiking shoe and are very comfortable.

Waterproof hiking shoes. Comfortable for me.
Merrell have always done me well with the Moab GTX line, and these are no exception. Fit is what I expected. May not be the most robust construction, but also not the most expensive hikers. GTX waterproof works great for me.
