Easy to install and perfect for spaces without a power source

If I leave the back door after dark to go to the shed or do something else in the garden, my way is automatically lit by these lights. They are bright and reliable, which is all I need.This pack includes 4 lights which are easy to fix to a wall or fence with very little DIY know how. Screws and rawl plugs are included.The lights will only operate when very little light is hitting the solar panel, so, to test, just cover the solar panel. There are 3 modes which are toggled through using the small button to the left of the sensor. 1) full brightness for 30 seconds in response to movement 2) Constantly dim light, changing to full brightness in response to movement 3) Always on, constantly dim light. Any setting where they are constantly working will significantly reduce working time.These lights have a really good 1200mAh lithium battery inside and as such represent very good value. There are plenty of examples of these batteries being sold stand alone for much more money and here you get 4 of them and some solar lights. At time of writing, with a voucher, these lights were less than £4 each. In the summer I have used these to illuminate the patio constantly in the evening and then switch to motion only throughout the night. The battery stayed the distance recharged during the day.I generally put plumbers’ silicone seal on all of the joins with lights like this. British weather usually results in water ingress which the sealant staves off. This really prolongs the life of such lights.A good set of lights at a very reasonable price.

These outdoor solar lights arrived in a cardboard box. Inside the box were 4 solar lights in protective bubble wrap, instruction leaflet, and 4 screws with wall plugs. The solar lights are made from black plastic, with a solar panel on top, a button and detection sensor on the front, and 203 LED lights spread around the front and both sides. The lights can be attached to a wall or fence using a single screw. The lights measure 12.5cm high, 9.5cm wide, and 4.8cm deep. They have a waterproof design with rating IP65.The information on the instruction leaflet says there is one 3.7V battery – 1200mAh lithium battery. The light power is 5.5V = 0.55W, and produces a white light of 6500K – 7000K. The detection sensor has a 270 degree wide angle and can detect between 5 – 8 metres.The lights seem to be medium quality as the body is just made from plastic. I’m not sure how durable they are, as they feel like they could break if you dropped them. There is a single button on the front which cycles through the 3 different modes. Mode 1 turns the light on when movement is detected, and stays on for 25 – 30 seconds. Mode 2 has dim light that stays on constantly, and changes to full brightness when movement is detected. Mode 3 has a dim light that stays on constantly all night.These are basic solar lights that provide enough light to see outside, but not the same kind of light as a proper floodlight. They are easy to fix up, but not sure how durable or strong due to being made from plastic. Due to the one button changing between the modes, there is no way of knowing what mode each light is in, unless you wait until night and go outside to see what happens with the detection. They are not the best quality but do a decent enough job.

These were easy to fit and seem to have charged well in the limited sun in the UK. They are getting set off whenever I walk by and stay on for a short period of time. Quite happy with them and would recommend.

At the time of ordering, this set of 4 outdoor solar lights was priced at a bargain £9.99, but I'm writing this review less than a week later and the link is going through to a set that look the same but are priced at £19.99 and there is no "You last purchased this on . . . . " message on the listing, so I'm confused as to whether the lights are exactly the same, however, I have included a photo of the lights themselves (only 2 of the 4 shown in the photo - the other two being still in the box) plus one of the instructions of the ones I have received.The lights are a simple design but efficient and effective in use. They can be fixed where you wish them to be sited by using two small screws located through the holes at the top of the lights.We have them set to the mode where they are off until motion is detected in the dark and then they are triggered to come on at full power. The sensor is very sensitive and has a pretty wide range, and the light is very bright and, as it shines from three sides, covers a wide area.These are replacements for something similar which was neither as sensitive, nor as bright as these lights are, so we just hope that they last for a few years (past experience of outdoor solar lights has been very variable to say the least!) as we are very happy with them during this first week.I can't comment on how long they will stay lit for due to the fact that it is the middle of Summer at present, so short nights, plus we don't want them to be permanently lit, but for the way we are using them, they are so far excellent and well worth the money (even if that is now £19.99!).
