Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 - Xbox 360

Initial Review
I've only played this game for a few hours, so please excuse the lack of in-depth knowledge that I will ascertain from playing furthermore. I am just writing an initial review for the game based on what I have played so far.So far I like what I see. I honestly didn't expect too much more then MW2 because common, how advanced can the graphics get and how "futuristic" can you get with a game thats entitled MODERN WARFARE. If you get any more into it you might as well be going sci-fi because the weapons of today haven't changed much since the last game. The graphics are good, and maybe a tad bit better then MW2, but honestly how much further can we go without a brand new gaming platform? I don't think there's any more "HD" you can go without playing this on a PS3, and thats even pushing it. If you want something that is going to blow you completely away in regards to graphics then wait for the next "gaming consol of tomorrow" because honestly we are at the platforms graphic capacity (NOT the WiiU because that won't be graphic intensive). The campaign is a continuation of the first two games, so if you haven't played them then you probably should. I got lucky and jumped into the 2nd modern warfare without playing the 1st, but was still a tad lost; but they really don't try to brief you on anything that happened before hand in this game. Its either you know or you don't. So far playing on regular it isn't that difficult, but I'm only doing it on regular so I can probably bet that when I up the difficulty, it will most certainly become harder. I do enjoy how your team mates kill the enemies and really do try to push the objective instead of "blindly firing" (and by this i mean attempting to fire at the enemy but always missing) as they have in past games. The guns are pretty much the same with a few new guns and additions. There's a lot of complaints about this but honestly what do you expect? It's like I said before, if they tried to make up a gun it would cross the line of being a modern game about modern warfare into sci-fi and then you would blast it even further so I like where it's at now. The guns are more customizible and now you can even level up your weapons so it encourages you to favor one weapon over others. This can be good or bad but I prefer it because I like to master one gun and then move to the next.Multiplayer always has its quirks, but thats common over almost every game out there (Halo, MW, MW1 etc). Right now people that have no life are the highest levels, but for the common joe like me with a job and a life only play when we want, and seemed to get paird up with equals, and even if you are jesus of the video game world, you'll start off as the lowest level until you rank up so just wait a week or so and people will be probably about at their rankings as they were in MW2. That Jesus of the video game who owned you last week will be a completely different level by then and you'll probably never face him again, its all part of playing a brand new game right at launch. It's fairly easy to level up but i did find it a little difficult with the three profiles you are given at the start because they are so limited. It's really not a big deal though and you'll quickly be able to customize your own profile once you level up which they have made pretty easy. For those that complain that there are little children playing cussing, singing and playing loud music...you'll never get away from it. There will always be an annoying little brat that thinks he's better then you, calling you a fa* and probably touching themselves. Its the nature of the game and really any game and shouldn't be factored into a review of the game itself. If you don't want to be bothered by that sort of thing then don't play multiplayer and just play with your friends on split screen.I will update this as I find out and play more of the game, cause honestly there's not much I can put having only played about 4-5 hours worth after work. Depending what I find out I will certainly keep the score or downgrade, so keep a look out this is only a preliminary review.*EDIT*So I've played quite a bit of this game now and I do not wish to change any of my previous statements. This game is fun, the graphics are of good quality and basically everything else I mentioned. Have fun!

Final Verdict: Its fun- but the "MP" is getting old
This is going to be 3 reviews in one: One for each section of the game (SinglePlayer, SpecOps, and MultiPlayer)===============================================================================================================SinglePlayer:===============================================================================================================Definitly has some "puckerfactor": (Contains although barely: Spoilers)Single Player campaign is average length for games nowadays (about 5-7 hours). It does contain anotherterrorist attack (similar to MW2's where you can choose to skip it). The campaign goes from New York City, toParis, to Hamburg, to London, to Russia, and a couple more I think. Forces that you play as include, US ArmyDelta Force, TF 141 (now Disavowed), SAS, and more. There are a few returns of NPC's as well:Captain PriceCaptain SoapNikolaiSgt Walcroft CoD4 SASCpl Griffin CoD4 SASamong othersAll in all, the campaign is suspenseful, and will keep you playing. My rating:4 out of 5 stars (could be better (still linear as always).===============================================================================================================Spec Ops (Co-Op Modes):===============================================================================================================Now this is my current favorite part. This mode is split up into two categories (Survival, and Missions)Missions is the same as MW2, so I wont get into that, they just have different maps, weapons, etc. The new modesurvival however is outstanding:Now why is Survival mode better than Multiplayer in this one? (my opinion) It is multiplayer. Up to 4 playerscan team up against waves of enemies (ranging from normal unarmored personel, to dogs, armored personel, airsupport, juggies, and more! And get this: They are played on the MultiPlayer Maps. For me this is a huge winner. You somewhat get a new experience for Call of Duty (for once) and at the same time: you can learn the maps forwhen you do go online. Now here is where it gets interesting. It is Modern Warfare's take on Zombies (basically),so you will have to buy weapons, perks, air support, etc. However, here is where it is different.1: You level up! and thus while doing so are allowed to use different weapons, air support, explosives, perks, and attatchment upgrades.2: You get to use several killstreaks! don't feel like dealing with a juggernaut? fine buy a predator missileand blow him up!3: you can also bring in NPCs from single player (currently have only unlocked two: GIGN Riot Shield Squad, andUSADF Squad. As with most survival games enemies become harder to kill as you go on these guys help out alot.My rating:5 out of 5 (something new to the table ...kindof)===============================================================================================================Multiplayer:===============================================================================================================This is pretty much the same as the past CoD games so I will just tell you the differences:-Killstreaks are now Pointstreaks: you add to your streak just like before however objectives now count too.-Pointstreaks are divided into three categories ( Specialist, Support, and Assault)--Assault: Pretty much what you are used to (has its own killstreaks that are unavailable in other categories).--Support: Works mostly how you are used to. however now does not end upon death (but if you switch class itwill.--Specialist: Newly added hass no rewards that we are used to instead are replaced by adding additional perks.4 kills: 1 extra perk, 6 kills: 2 extra perks, 8 kills: all 15 perks activated. You do get to choose your firsttwo extra perks though.-Pointstreaks are now class specific. This means they are linked to a certain class. This way you can have aassault class with an assault set of rewards, a support class, etc. as well as different rewards set fordifferent classes.-Weapons now level up and get another Perk (brings it up to 5 total perks per class).-Stopping Power Makes a half return: as a deathstreak for your next kill. most likely the most plain and mostwelcome death streak to be used in my opinion as it only effects your next 1 kill.Weapon Highlights:Barrett .50 CalDraganovAS .50RASSMP5MP7UMP 45ACR 6.8AK-47Type 95M-60Spas 12AA 12USAS 12Model 1887G18P99ES Five Seven (Counter-Strike Favorite of mine)Perk Highlights:Hardline Pro = same as MW2 except now also adds: 2 assist = one point for pointstreakQuickDraw = Perk made for QuickscopingStalker = Move faster while ADSSitrep Pro = now completely negates the Dead Silence (Ninja Pro renamed back to CoD4 style!)Hollow Points (Death Streaked Stopping Power)My Rating:5 out of 5 (Old but new at the same time)

The game was good. Not as great as MW1 and MW2 but it is still a nice game for those who want to enjoy a satisfying multi-player and campaign. The standard multi-player was nothing special but it wasn't bad either. It felt a lot like MW2 which was not different in many ways. Although that did upset me, I found the survival modes and spec ops to make up for that. They consisted of fast-pace action and strategic gameplay in order to make it on to the next rounds. The campaign was literally the bomb of this game. Full of action, drama, and cool moments, this campaign left a good name for the MW series. It was done so well and it gave me a fulfilling ending to a wonderful series. Not only did it start off amazingly from where World War III initiated but it cleared up everything and answered all our questions that MW1 and MW2 gave us.I highly recommend this game to any FPS gamer. Definitely not as sublime as MW2 is but it was still a wonderful game.

GAME DOESN'T WORK!!!
Terrible. I bought this game a while ago, and just finally got around playing it (I haven't touched my XBox in months and was feeling nostalgic). When I opened the game it was scratched beyond belief, and every 5 minutes it says the disc is unreadable. Selling a game in this condition should not be allowed!!!!!!
