DON'T BUY THIS!
I seriously recommend you find a different product or spend the extra money on a quality product!After reading many glowing reviews I decided to try this Takstar. I immediately regretted my decision.My batteries would get so hot that you could feel the heat emanating from the product. I attempted to use it anyway, despite my better judgement. The sound quality is ok, at best.WARNING: The Takstar not only eats batteries, but it makes them so hot that they melt into the product itself! After examining the product and information thoroughly and going through three different batteries in this way...I had no choice but to throw it away.It's a sad waste of money.

Can't Get it to Work
I guess it was my mistake for buying such a low priced microphone but it does not work. It won't attach to the camera it supposedly is compatible with and it won't work when I connect it to my phone. It works on my boyfriends phone but doesn't seem to make a difference compared to the sound his phone records. Wish I had tested it out sooner so I could have returned it.

Not much better than built in mic. Build quality is substandard.
It is an average product. Compared to built in mic, the sound quality is not that much better. There are three positions to mount the mic. However, choosing the rearmost position made the screw come loose very quickly due to the weight of the mic. It was not able to hold the mic. securely in place. They could have used metal nut insert instead of just plastic threaded hole. Yes, it is cheap but either don't give the choice of three positions or make it robust. "It is cheap what you expect..." kind of excuse is old.

Amazing considering price
I was sceptical due to low price , however , it did exactly what I wanted , a shotgun mic for my Nikon P1000. Sound quality is way better than camera and can pick up sounds from 20-30m no problem

Very satisfied, go for it!
The sound quality is great. It came fast and as expected .After watching many comparisons and reviews ,I bought it and now enjoy making videos with good audio.And plus it doesn't suck battery juice like crazy. I've had it for a month or so and haven't changed the battery once.

NOW worth the time. And If I'm not approved You Tube videos will started net week and a 100,000 buck civil suit.
