Excellent PIR light
This is a fabulous flood light for the front of our house. We were able to angle the light so the sensor only picks up movement close to the house and not every time someone walks along the footpath. In addition it really is very bright bright.

Easy to install bright external light
This external COB security light has all the normal features you would expect.• It is waterproof• It has a PIR for motion detection and hence triggered activation• Day and night mode triggering• A good wide area of beam/light angle• A white light (6000K) output so it is virtual daylight in its beam path• Low energy for its high light output• Slim design as uses COB LED• Manual adjustment for lighting time, motion distance, and day/night settings only. Hence if you place this in a location where you cannot easily get to it then changing these setting may require a ladder or some planning. This light is easy to install and if you are unsure or not qualified to connect the light to the houses electrical circuit directly you can easily put a 3 pin (essential) plug on it and just plug it in to a normal wall socket. In some ways this may be better as this should give you is access to switch the unit on or off if it is mounted height. There is no remote control with this unit, so everything is done on the unit by adjusting one of three small potentiometers/knobs on the back plate. This might mean some locations are not suitable.Note: PIR work/trigger by the movement of a heat source. That can be direct or indirect. Indirect gives false activations are where a heat source is exposed temporarily due to wind blowing/moving a branch etc which is in front of something warmer than the surroundingsThe unit looks reasonably well made for the price

Nice little pir sensor light.
I ordered these for illumination of the walkway at the side of my house. My main security lights are 500w halogen lights and these are my first venture in to led pir flood lights. So being a bit old fashioned in my light selections I ordered these with considerable skepticism.Upon seeing the box I was dubious of their size, they are quite compact, but appear well made. The mounting brackets are already fitted and a small 360° pir sensor is fitted to the bottom of the light housing. Despite being fitted to the lamp, the sensors has its own independent joint offer seperate up/down, left/right sensor adjustment. It is supplied with twin and earth cable which is stripped and soldered on the installation end, ready to go unless it needs shortening. The cable is quite short as it's intended for connection to a junction box.The rear of the pir houses the settings for lux sensitivity, motion detection range and time on when activated.Easy to install and easy set for effective detection and lighting.Overall the lamp is of a nice design and appears to be of good quality with a nice finish. I was actually quite surprised at the light output and how crisp and bright it is.There are two things I don't like about the light which were not mentioned on the details page.1. There is no facility to temporarily switch it on via an indoor light switch with a double tap on the light switch unlike my other lights.2. The maximum on time is only three minutes as per the instructions. If you need the light on for longer then you'll need keep activating the pir.Other than my two niggles they are quite decent, and just for illuminating the side walkway they will do fine.

I replaced a 500 Watt lamp with this one which uses only 30 Watts of electricty
I replaced an old 500 Watt halogen PIR lamp on the end of my house with this LED unit. The installation was almost straight forward. The screws holding the old bracket in place had corroded and I couldn't undo them. Battery angle grinder to the rescue but it meant drilling new mounting holes.Locating the new lamp in the same place as the old one meant I could connect its cable to the existing junction box. This greatly simplified things. The light from the new lamp is not as bright as it was from the old one. This does not surprise me as it is supposed to replace a 180 Watt bulb and the old one was 500 Watt. The light is also a harsher light. I should have connected the lamp to a an extension lead to adjust the sensitivity and time the light remains on while on the ground. Adjusting them up a ladder in the dark is a fool's errand but I will know better next time. What pleases me most is that this lamp uses only 30 Watts of electricity instead of 500 Watts! That deserves five stars on its own.

Well made and sealed, adjustable sensor.
Well made and packaged 30w LED floodlight. Well made and finished it looks well sealed against rain water. Bracket is quite lightweight but does the job. The light itself is light. The adjustable PIR sensor for activation is easy to set, maybe not quite as weather proof as the light itself.Bright wide beam from the light and good activation from the sensor when adjusted.Well priced too.

Tested but not yet fully-installed
I have tested this unit indoors by wiring it up and checking its settings but won;t have it fully installed and operating for a week or two due to landlord requirements on who installs it to replace my existing light.30w is a decent brightness for a security light and probably the brightness most people need. The bracket is not the most substantial I've seen, but then, these units are not really mounted where they get constantly knocked or bashed. Brackets are generally just for easier fixing and adjustment of angle, so for that purpiose the bracket works just fine.I will update this review once fitted because it will be replacing an ageing 30W unit so, therefore, a direct like-for-like comparison can be done on spread, scatter and drop-off of the light. Indoor testing suggests it should be on a par (pun intended) with the existing light, just fresher.Updates once in daily use will appear below here (if there is anything significant to update with)...

Nice Led light
This is a nice bright light with a wide beam, easy to install and set up with the little setting dials under neath it, for sensitivity of darkness and time for the light to come on, overall a nice easy product.
