BioGuard Smart Shock 25 lb, Algae Preventative, Swimming Pool Clarifier, Pool Shock Treatment, Multi-Purpose Shock for Pool Maintenance

I had what was finally identified as white algae sudden show up in my pool. I was not familiar with this infestation and had to do some research to figure out what to do about it. The local big chain pool company was not that helpful and was recommended 4-5 things to add all at once....seemed there had to be a better way, so, as I said, I did some research.I have a salt water pool so, I took that into consideration when deciding upon a treatment method. I also have grandchildren who live in the pool during the summer so, that, too, was a primary consideration. This product seems the best base on the eco-friendly biochemical formulation they use. It is a weekly to bi-weekly treatment for my pool, takes about 3-minutes, and is safe to swim in 15 minutes!Best of all, IT WORKS!!! After the first treatment I say immediate results. I did double the dosage the first treatment, but afterwards just have been following the recommended weekly treatment program. NO MORE WHITE GUNK showing up in the pool and the filters are cleaner, lasting longer as well.I do think the product is expensive but, based on the results, I will continue to use until I can no longer afford it. I have been disappointed to not be able to buy the single use containers, having now to buy the large bucket (always a pain to store these bucket bulk items due to floorspace consumption). However, I kept one of the single use containers and just fill it up prior to use and store the bucket remotely...works for me.I highly recommend this product for control of pesty algae and other bio related issues that show up in pools...great product!

I learned my lesson in prior years. I used cheap shock and only used Biogiard when in trouble with algae. I switched this year to only Bioguard once a week and no algae even thru 100s temps. I also started adding inexpensive alkalinity tabs to chlorinator with chlorine tables and that helps. But that lid!! Still determined to figure out how to easily get off.

I’ve used other tablets and notice algae but not when I use the Bioguard tablets .

Been using bio guard for years have never had. Green algae. Since would use anything else it’s the best.

Keeps water crystal clear all season. Bettter price than in the stores.

More expensive than other chlorine products but you use less. Been using it for years

I love the fact that it dissolves and does not sit on the bottom of your pool. It is so nice that you only have to wait 15 minutes after use to begin swimming again.
