The MINIFOCUS ball clamp is a lighter-weight version of the world-famous ULCS clamp. It's made of thinner metal. I soaked the entire clamp in salt water overnight, and saw no rusting. This clamp holds securely when used with standard size ball arms. The major glaring problem is that the end of the bolt sticks out about 1/8" when it's tightened on a ball. This is semi-sharp, and can catch on cables, wetsuits, etc. If you are a professional, go with the original. If you're just using this with a light-weight sports camera, at less than half the price of the original ($13.99 vs. ~$35), it's a fair value. If they fix the threaded bolt problem, it would be a great value.
