A Tundra Tailgate Must Have
This is the perfect tailgate shock for all Tundra (2010 Platinum) Crewmax owners. Made this Purchase after the tailgate started slamming down vice slowly easing down. Very quiet and stiff when operating.

2 minute install on my 2014 Tundra, but quality is trash.... tailgate doesn't go down smoothly or slowly and definitely no assistance going up! wasted my 4 minutes!

Did not fit 2010 Tundra.
Did not fit my 2010 Toyota Tundra. Replacement was about 4” longer than the original and could not be compressed enough after several failed attempts with ratchet strap.

Raise the Tailgate to Connect the Top of the Strut.
This part initially seemed to be 4" too long to fit my 2011 Toyota Tundra Crewmax. HOWEVER, understand that you will need to attach the bottom connection first, THEN RAISE THE TAILGATE to the closed position and THEN attach the top connector. It fits perfectly if installed correctly. One star off because the operation of the piston is not smooth. Is slowly drops, but does so in hesitant fits. Still, its an improvement over slamming down and at a much lower cost than the Toyota part.

Top ball socket broke within a month and way to much pressure so tailgate opens really slow
