This is an awesome product, making for a really clean install of a dash cam in our 2012 GX460. Wish I’d known about these when I installed my dash cam in our Land Cruiser (I snaked the cable through the a pillar and dash). Plugs into the power source for your mirror, without robbing any power/function from them. Really nice. Kinda pricey for what it is, but I’m so happy with this solution that I’d pay for it again.

So simple. I installed mine in my 2024 4Runner. I undid the upper console and pushed my wires down to the mirror and plug from that end. I dry fit my camera and wanted to test my connection for power. I was scared when the so far didn’t power up. But. I reconnected the overhead console plug, and it must have completed the circuit. So we had power. I buttoned it all up and taped my USB next to the mirror cover and mounted the Garmin mini 3 behind the mirror. You can’t even see the camera and if you aren’t looking for it, you don’t even notice the so far at all. Super happy with the install and that it is so dang clean.

This works like a charm. I was able to install it with ease and after some movement of all the wire, slide the cover back on. I will say that I ordered different cables to go to my dash cam as the ones that come with it (while totally fine) were a bit too short if you wanted to hide everything but the one cable. I know it doesn't allow for parking mode on dash cams, but I've never really cared about that anyway. This for sure beats running wire to the fuse box and taking everything apart (you still have to run it for the rear camera, but even that was pretty easy). Would highly recommend and suggest you order it if you see it because I had to wait for them to restock for a long time.

I have installed three dash cams in my three cars. First (2013 RX350 Lexus) one used the cigarette lighter method and ran the wires through the sides and headliner. Looked fine and worked great. Turns on and off when I start the car. For the second method (2007 BMW 3328i) I purchased a wiring set that connects to the fuse box. I was happier and worked great but I still had to run the wires through the headliner along the sides and behind the dashboard. It looks good too. The third time (2020 RX350 Lexus) is the charm. Purchased the Dongar, and followed the install guidelines someone posted on YouTube and it looks awesome. I didn't have to run wires along the headliner and sides and it was an easy install. It's a bit more pricey they other methods but it looks the best and works as described. Recommend!

I recently installed the Dongar Dashcam Power Adapter (10-pin Type B) in my 2022 Tundra Platinum, and I'm quite impressed with its performance. I purchased this adapter to supply power to my Red Tiger dash cam on my 2024 Rav 4 XLE. It taps into the 12 volt DC supply on the video rear view mirror. It includes an adapter that reduces the voltage to 5 volts whuch is connected to a female USB-A connector. This adapter eliminates the need to cut or splice any of thre OEM wiring, and allows for easy removal later if necessary. The adapter is small, but care must be taken to tuck it into the available space so that the wiring cover will fit properly.

I got this to connect my VIOFO A119 mini to my 22 Outback wilderness and it was perfect.The product feels well made. The wires are shrink wrapped well and the connectors are all securely attached. There’s an adhesive pad on the side of the USB port that sticks well to prevent that module from dangling. This also came with three cables, I ended up using the USB Type A to Type C for my dash cam. The cables that came with my cam were either too long or too short.Install was a breeze:1) remove the plastic trim piece between the overhead console and the auto-dimming rear view mirror.2) unplug the rear view mirror3) plug the Dongar dongle into the mirror and then plug the original pigtail into the Dongar dongle.4) push the excess length of the original pigtail into the hole leading to the overhead console.5)replace the trim piece, routing your USB plug accordingly6) stick the USB plug where you’d like with the included adhesive pad7) plug in the dash camThe Dongar setup took me less than 5 minutes. It required zero tools and I did not need to remove any consoles or panels. The plastic trim between the mirror and console can be removed easily with your fingers.Note: this will only power your cam while your car is on. If you want parking mode then this isn’t the option for you.

Easy install 2023 Lexus GX 460 dash cam. It works great to hide wire behind rear view mirror cover. The “car fit” mistakenly advised that it would not fit the Lexus GX.
