Nerf Perfection.
If you're one of those fellows who's looking for the weapon that'll grant you the absolute edge over your opponents in a Nerf war or simply someone in a quest for a cool toy, you've definitely come to the right place. Nerf guns are fun, considerably safe (as long as children wear glasses or watch each other's eyes when shooting) and quite durable when compared to products from other manufacturers. The Pyragon, however, is miles above the standard raised by its creators. From a fan's point of view, this gun is absolutely ultimate in Nerf technology. The Vortex line has various worthy products, but this might just be the best of them all. What amazed me at first was the magazine size. While it does take a while to reload and some experience to get used to it, the enormous barrel can hold up to 40 lightweight discs, which means running out of ammo is unlikely. The Pyragon feels well for adult-sized hands, which might be a problem if used by children - it is also a bit heavy for the trigger hand. Other than that, it can easily be slam-fired by anyone, since its handle is relatively light. If you're wondering about the differences between discs and darts, I can assure that Whistling darts are in the same league of discs when it comes to speed, with the Elite version of the former being slightly faster. The great advantage of discs, however, is that they can be very durable and are less susceptible to jamming in a magazine system, which can prove vital to the lifespan of your gun. Accuracy and range are also improved, with discs flying steadily across long distances. They usually tilt or arc slightly to the left, but the difference is minimal and it takes barely a second to readjust your shot.Overall, this is a great toy for a kid of any age. To me, it is the best and perhaps last piece of my little Nerf collection, now completed with an amazing gun that instills fear into many.Safety note: discs actually harm less than darts (specially Elite darts), a plus for children.

Awesome, get one.
My bf already had the strongarm and roughcut. He says this is the best gun and loves shooting them at me at close range. It was a xmas present and he loves this gun. It takes longer to load as there are 40 discs but it is well worth it once you start firing. The accuracy is very good and you can keep shooting at the same spot for maximum pain. They do hurt and I've had a disc hit me in each eye. Another plus is it does not jam. I like the slam fire action which means you become like Rambo and start screaming as you rain down discs continously. I have bought him an additonal 20 ammo refill based on previous reviews so it doesn't get in the way of having fun with a fully loaded barrel. Highly recommended and he wants another.

Fantastic fun
My son was given a basic nerf bullet gun for his birthday which was such fun that we ended up ordering a variety of nerf guns for the rest of the family for christmas. This was by far the best gun of the lot, it has a great amunition capacity, very accurate, great range, doesn't tend to jam like some of the others and if it does has a special button which instantantly releases the jam (usually caused by a child loading the discs upside down - not something that would happen normally but 5 year olds can still manage it...)The discs also don't have the same problem that the bullets have of deforming if a 5 year old tries grabbing them to hard. All in all would definately recommend this one for any age.

Disappointing
Hmmmmm. After all the fuss, I'm a bit disappointed with this. My son really wanted one, but its probably the least used of all his nerf guns, of which he has many. It jams a lot, the cartridge is huge to lug about, is a pain to fill up, and the discs bounce, so are a lot easier to lose than the bullets in my opinion. Its ok, but I'd not recommend it

Great customer service
Good gun, but the drum jammed on day one so it would only hold some of the discs. Drayton sent a replacement without quibble so top marks to them - the replacement works without trouble so far. This gun shoots powerfully and accurately. Easy to reload after you've retrieved the 40 discs! 10 year old's having fun with it (and me when I get a chance!).

Super Blaster Super Value!!
Bought this for my little boy, well I had all intentions of giving it to him, but found it much more enjoyable to chase him round the garden myself!!When it was his turn to shoot I found the disks quite solid so shouldn't be fired at and vulnerable areas (as I later found out much to my sons amusement). Shots travel a fair distance with a level of accuracy.Possibly better at shooting targets rather than injuring your loved ones lolBrilliant product and huge amount of fun for the pair of us!!

One of the best new products
This is a must for any nerd gun fanatic - super fun, not stop firing. A bit of a pain to re-load but then you are off again. Great addition to any other Vortex blaster. Prone to jamming if fired too quickly but can be resolved fairly quickly - just keep a steady rhythm when firing and don't over pump the re-loader.

Graet Blaster
My son loves this Nerf gun. It is quite a large toy and has 40 discs which is good as I hate having to buy extra darts for my son's other Nerf gun. It is a fun toy and appeals to both boys and girls. The barrel can store all 40 discs at the same time and it is easy to load and fire. All in all it's a good quality toy and my son has had no problems with it.
