I was unsure how this grill replacement would work out. My own track record with aftermarket automotive parts runs about 50/50 getting something that works as well as OEM. I'm happy to report that this replacement grill is one of the success stories.Let me just get this out of the way first and move on. As you can see in the pics, the new grill center is black, while the old one is gray. That is my only beef with this replacement, but it's not an issue for me. Sure, I could have tried painting it to match, but it's a 2013 Chevy Impala. The more parts that get replaced, the fewer parts match. I don't lose sleep over it. If it matters to you, I'm sure a $10 rattle can would do the trick.Anyway, installation of the new grill was less of a hassle than getting the cracked one out. I tried releasing the tabs and taking it apart, but it fought me the whole way. So, rather than disassembly, I turned to demo. I advise to take care so that you don't damage the fascia in the process. The slots, well the whole thing is made of plastic, and at 11 years old, it's fairly brittle. I recommend cutting away the old center grill to gain access to the tabs that hold it together. Did I mention that I separated this into the center grill and outer trim ring? I found that approach worked best for me.Installing the new grill worked best one piece at a time. It didn't take long either. I could try to talk you through it, but I recommend looking at how the two pieces are joined together, and how the unit as a whole is retained in the fascia, then deciding what works best for you. I will say that I did use a bottle jack and a 2x4 to push up on the bottom of the fascia to align the slots. When the grill broke, the impact seemed to affect the original shape of the fascia opening. Jacking up the fascia helped align the tabs, and I just pushed the grill into place. Once I released the jack, everything remained in place.So, demo and installation were a little tricky, but the new grill does fit and looks great. It was a bargain at the price, too. I'm satisfied with the results and highly recommend this grill.
