The Double Life of Pocahontas

It is a fascinating story. The story is told mostly according to John Smith's documents. I will look into more.

the books for my grand children were what I expected and I was pleased with them. I never got the site to accept my amazon card and ended up paying with another credit card. Still do not know why this had to be so difficult. have not tried to use the card since then.

This is a short, less than 100 pages, biography of what is know about Pocahontas. I rated it 5 stars although I would have preferred a longer book. However the book is priced right for it's size.From what I can determine, the book is historically accurate. If your purpose for reading the book is to learn the basics about the life of Pocahontas, then I highly recommend it. If, however, you just wish to be entertained, watch the Disney movie. The movie is not even close to being historically accurate, but it is entertaining.

I would not recommend this book to highly judgemental people like me because it has many spelling errors towards the end of the book. Otherwise I liked the description and the way the book started, progressed, and ended.

This was a requirement for my daughter's 5th grade class this year. I read it when she was done and I was very surprised at how well it was written and how much I liked it. She loved it too. Very glad to have a bit more history that what Disney portrays.

I am giving four stars because at the end of the book it's not really the end of the book and it was like bla bla bla this bla bla bla that etc. etc.

This book was as much about John Smith as it was Pocahontas. It was full of good information, but it was hard to read. The point of view was muddy. There were too many facts and not enough story for my 13-year old reluctant reader.

There was a great deal of information in this paperback.
