Get ready -- the 1700 pieces form two giant, solid, and well-made vehicles... but when the pieces are all spread out on the table, they seem daunting.The box says ages 14+ -- my son is almost 10, and he completed the sets. (Smaller fingers may have an advantage here.) The key knowledge that your assembler needs is how to match up similar-looking pieces on the 1:1 ratio diagram provided in the instructions.The AT-OT has many moving pieces -- posable legs, an embarkation ramp, a cockpit that opens, swivel cannons -- those cannons are very cool. The legs are at their best when they are set in the "down" position -- they will support the vehicle in the "up" posture, but there is less stability.The dropship is the real treat in this set -- it is a solid, sturdy toy with swivel cannons, missiles, a back-up missile battery within a hidden bay, and a cool cockpit. It has a lifting handle, too, and it latches onto and off of the AT-OT with an ingenious LEGO locking system. This is a large and heavy piece -- 20" long, 8" high. It stays together and zooms around just as it should.Your LEGO Star Wars fan will love it. As a mom, I can say that this toy is EXPENSIVE, but for something special, it is worth it. This combination package is quite wonderful in the sense that it comes with two kits in one box. My kids love Legos, especially the SW sets. This kit takes quite a few hours for the kids to build, but they enjoy the building process. The kits are quite detailed once put together. Sturdiness is an issue particularly the mechanism where the walker attaches to the dropship. We do not glue our kits generally so pieces will come apart but definitely easily snapped back into place. Once both kits are assembled, it is a rather large set. The scale of the ships are also both quite nice. We are happy with the purchase.

An amazing Lego set even as a 19 year old I still am a child at heart and this brought me back to the good old days. It did burn a massive whole in my wallet ($800 IS ALOT OF MONEY) How ever in the end after spending almost an entire day off from work building this bad boy I don't regret spending that money one bit!! !! I wish you guys would make Legos cheaper though as a child my mom refused to buy the big Lego sets because they were $300 . I think you guys could charge a lot less and still make profit as Lego is a big company !!

so if you buy this set you are saying "im going to spend $1 for each brick yep $1 for each single brick and put it together"like im a huge fan of lego but this overpriced as heck

These items from Lego are very difficult to come by in Switzerland. Only problem with them is that they tend to come apart very easily. The tolerances on the parts could be tightened a little so that they hold together better.

Great project for a father and son. I built this with my then 8yr old and we had a blast. He could've done it by himself with occasional help from me but it was an excuse to spend some time together. Great instructions and the finished vehicles are pretty imposing.

My grandson who struggles with being focused stayed with this project for 2-1/2 days. It was labeled for a 14 yr old he was only 8. Granted he is incredibly good at building things. This Toy was a winner and a great way to increase self confidence. Everyone was very proud of him as he was of himself! He never got frustrated. I gave this gift to two of my grandsons and they danced around the room screaming after opening the box. One of the ultimate lego sets. Expensive, but with two things to build and play with, it was perfect to give to the two of them. They will remember receiving this throughout their lives. Priceless.

Had to dig deep for this, but bit the bullet with no regrets. This is a set I've always wanted since it came out. Great value, as you get two sets in one, both of which are relatively large and packed with features for endless playability. They also look very impressive on display. A must have for any lego or star wars fan, couldn't recommend it enough.

Hallo LEGO Fans!Ich habe dieses Teil für meinen Neffen gekauft. Ich habe aber mit Ihm eine Vereinbahrung. Ich kaufe ihm das LEGO und dafür darf ich es als erstes zusammenbauen. Ich selbst habe sehr viel Spaß beim Zusamnmenbau gehabt. Ich spiele gerne mit Dingen die ich zusammenbauen muss. Ist so ein Hobby in der kalten Jahreszeit. Das Teil ist trotz der Größe sehr stabil. Ich werde es natürlich für meinen Neffen wieder zerlegen, damit er den gleichen Spaß bein Zusammenbau hat, wie ich. Undf er wird auch Spaß dabei haben zumal er auch Star Wars Fan ist.Thomas
