i wanted to use this camera where there is hardly Internet possibility and power goes down often.. places like farms and villages .. so keep this in mind when reading this review..but this review still relevant when someone's internet goes off.. or power goes off ..I don't want to say this camera as worst because hardware is good but the firmware and the application software are more than worst. very thanks to programmer.camera has inbuilt hotspot but that can be used to connect only to activate internet connection. as you connect to internet, inbuilt hotspot becomes inactive forever and no way to start it back on. so in any case your internet connection goes off there is no way to connect to camera directly through any Wi-Fi device.if you need to record in SD card that everyone needs.. you have to have internet connection because when you connect camera to the internet .. then only one can see the settings through which local SD card recording can be activated.now imagine the situation where you started SD card recording through internet .. leter internet goes off.. now you have got recordings in the camera sd card but there is no way to connect to camera through Wi-Fi device ( forever disabled Hotspot of camera )and no way to access sd card recording until your internet comes back on.yes, you can reset the camera to its original default settings to activate hotspot again .. and connect it to access old recordings.. but as recording to sd card is disabled by default so now you have no further recordings. now again you have to wait for internet to start SD card recording and then you find again that hotspot is disabled now.so if you want to use this camera to record in SD card and use it without internet then this is not for you.now other important case for me .. that is if Power goes off.. you will find that when power comes back on the camera internal date reverted to 1st January 2000 .. now all your next recordings will have this wrong date. if power load shedding happens multiple time during week or month.. you have multiple recordings having same date and time.okay any how accepted this. real enjoyment starts now !! to access recordings of year 2000 there is no way in the Application so that you can change the year directly from 2022 to 2000 to access it's recording.. the fastest one can go back is month by month .. so total you have to press back button of month atleast for 22 year x 12 month= 264 times.. okay accepted..!! but you cannot do this fast.. you have to wait for a second after each back month pressed.. yeehh..!!if some manufacturer force to be online for any reason.. that means they might do some suspicious background activity .. believe me..!!many of its services are depends on their premium plans so application begs you repeatedly to activate it.then some other issues but I don't have more time now.. I am returning it back.

I bought two cameras. Initially (one week) it was not working properly, it was very slow in the mobile application and worked like a still camera. Then there was a software version update symbol showed under each camera in the mobile app, and I updated it to latest version. It is working awesome now. :-). But still i like "Imou 5MP+5MP Dual Lens CCTV Camera Home Outdoor". costly.. but worth.

Let me first tell you the basic details you want to know.Image quality is "alright" don't expect camera quality of a mobile phone. Even though the video captured in "HD" has resolution of 1080p it still looks like 720p. But don't get me wrong it captures good audio/video which is our end requirements.Now setting up can be a hassle or not depends upon you, the camera needs to be constantly powered so do remember the power adaptor only has 2m length. I had to buy separate wire for my desired location.For first setup you do need a ethernet wire with internet connection so don't just assume all you need is smart phone.Now why my opinion changed? It's because of the desktop app they recently updated. Previously it won't show you camera footage. So saving the clips on mobile phone was pain and it would heat up my phone as YOU MANUALLY HAVE TO RECORD THE CLIP LIKE SOME SCREEN RECORDER. You have no idea how annoying it gets when you want 20+min clips. Also it has 5min cap for recording so you have to restart recording(saving the clips through app) every 5 mins if you intended to save longer videos.With PC app/software getting updated now I can just save it on my PC, don't have to worry about file size and recording limitations.I even decided to get myself another camera since now it's easy to manage through PC app. Hope this review helps for someone who looking for good camera with good desktop app, since I sure was looking for something like this and glad the desktop app now works properly. Super happy!
