Expected performance
It performs as expected Front I/O usb c 3.2 gen 2 - 900MB\s Rear I/O usb c 3.2 gen 2x2 - 1700MB\s Not sure how much PC spec play a role, but just so they are here for someone -Gigabyte Z70 Aorus Elite AX -I7 13700KF -TForce Vulcan DDR5 32GB -TForce NVME 2TB It's heavy, it's quicker than any thumb drive I have, has nice pouch, being able to look at files on my phone is nice. 1 TB capacity is nice.. Only thing better would be a larger capacity. Only downside is, I can not use the 100 MB\s flash anymore, they are hella slow.

Buyer Beware – Unreliable and Frustrating Drive
I purchased the SSK 2TB External SSD USB-C Drive (Up to 2000MB/s, USB 3.2 Gen 2x2) about 50 days ago, and it has been the worst storage device I’ve ever owned. For the first week, everything seemed great. Transfer speeds were close to the advertised numbers, and I was impressed. But after only 6–7 days, the performance collapsed. Speeds dropped so severely that transferring files felt like going back to the USB 1.1 era—12MB/s or less. Files that should have taken seconds suddenly took 30 minutes or longer. The drive also overheated during these long transfers. Over the following weeks, performance was inconsistent—sometimes fast, sometimes unbearably slow, with no clear cause. Around the 3-week mark, the drive stopped being recognized by my Quest 3 VR headset and Samsung S24 Ultra, even though it had worked before. On my Windows PC, I was greeted with a disk error and spent hours trying repairs. After multiple failed attempts—including a repair process that froze after 28 hours—I had no choice but to reformat, losing over 1TB of data in the process. The reformat temporarily made the drive usable again, but the slow speeds returned immediately. By 40 days in, the drive frequently stopped being recognized at all. Multiple reformats, disk checks, and troubleshooting attempts have failed. At this point, the drive is essentially useless. Maybe I received a defective unit, but judging by the growing number of similar reviews, this seems to be a wider quality issue. Worst of all, I contacted SSK through their website after the 30-day window, and I’ve received no response. I trusted this brand, which is why I didn’t return it sooner, but that trust was misplaced. Save yourself the frustration and avoid this drive. If I do end up hearing back from SSK, I will update this review for everyone.

Feels premium with premium performance
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this flash drive. The metallic build feels both sturdy and premium, which was a delightful surprise. As someone who owns numerous flash drives, I purchased this one for its storage capacity to accommodate my extensive file collection. Despite always seeking out the fastest drives, I often find their speeds lacking, typically around 15-25 MB/s. However, this drive consistently delivers impressive speeds between 250-500 MB/s. It's remarkably faster, and I couldn't be more satisfied. Initially, my expectations were moderate, but I am thoroughly impressed. This brand has certainly earned my future business!

Uninstalled itself during a file transfer. It is pushing up daisies now
I got this flash drive because of its portability, it had 2 TB of storage, and could be used directly into a USB C port for faster speeds on my laptop. Initially I was impressed with the performance. And then I wasn't. I used this flash drive for about a 2 months for a digital asset management class. I noticed then that the drive would disconnect itself randomly, but I thought it would be ok Unfortunately, it disconnected in the middle transferring files in Adobe Lightroom. Luckily, the digital asset management class taught us to have a backup drive. I'm so thankful I listened in class and had the backup, or I would be toast. So, now I have this garbage drive that disconnected even though nothing was touching it. I wonder if this had something to do with an unstable construction as it doesn't happen with anything else I have plugged into my laptop. I've literally never ever had this happen with a drive before. It happened to me with an SSD card about 14 years ago, and I learned from that so it would never happen again, That one was my fault. A random disconnect is totally not my fault. I don't know if I can do anything about it. I have requested warranty service from the manufacturer. I will update if that works out.

Smal form, great power and storage
What a great thumb drive that features 2 TB or storage and quick transfers to and from the computer. The small leather keyring carrier is also a great concept. I love this drive and it keeps a lot of data. Great value for the money and also heat resistant. The functionality of this can be applied to many applications like photographers and others who need to move data quickly.

Best compact USB C storage stick for ProRes HQ recording
I bought this to record directly to the USB C output of the LUMIX S5IIX. It’s been working well for recording at the highest ProRes HQ setting of the camera. It’s been just a couple of days but so far just once the camera showed a message that the storage was too slow to record. Playback via the camera and the the iPad M4 is smooth. The speed test was via an OWC app in the App Store. The USB C stick is mad of full metal and feels solid. It gets warm during recording, playback, and transfer but not uncomfortably warm. The only moving part is the cap that flips open to cover the USB C port. The cap gets in the way a bit of the camer’s flip out display depending on which way it’s plugged in. So far, this is the best USB C stick that I’ve found for direct connection to the S5IIX.

I have used this drive for a month and found the speed is not as claimed or consistent. I have had times where the writing of files pauses for 10+ seconds before writing another block. The TimeMachine backup of 6.58Gb took 17 hours. I do not recommend this drive. I will move to m.2 drive with an external housing for similar monies.
