The Originals: Season 5 [DVD] [2018]

Who will survive this final season? Seven years have passed, New Orleans enjoying rare peace. Not for much longer. Militant "pure" vampires want rid of all sub-species like witches and werewolves, particularly hybrids. Hope, daughter of Klaus and Hayley, is fifteen. She, a mixture of vampire, witch and werewolf, is on the verge of unprecedented powers. Enemies circle, her family determined to protect....Dedicated fans will no doubt take in their stride all that is going on. Others will continue to be mystified by highly confusing storylines, bewildering flashbacks, people thought dead still very much alive. As dysfunctional families go, the Mikaelsons are hard to beat - it impossible to calculate how many innocents have perished during their thousand years of feuds - Klaus surely by far the main offender, none of the others particularly likeable.Thirteen episodes, impact depending on how much one cares for the characters.Interesting bonus features include how Georgia convincingly doubled for New Orleans. (There is an amusing fun contribution from some of the crew). The Comic-Con session is far better than some seen elsewhere, creators and cast reflecting on what it feels like to have reached the end of it all.As ever, on the Comic-Con panel, Joseph Morgan exhibits a disarming humour and charm totally absent from the character he plays. Some may wish Klaus himself could have exhibited such qualities, encouraging us to care more what happens to him.At least the show has not been cut off in its prime, creators thus to bring about an ending hopefully to satisfy those who have followed the series for years.

Overall I enjoyed the Originals but I found it a bit "samey" get into a bad situation with the baddest ever villain - get out of the situation - get into another situation with another baddest ever baddy - get out of it …. no real story line but overall enjoyable and well acted

Great series ,Klaus carries on with his reputation for havoc. Love this series. For vampire fans and werewolf fans and witch enthusiasts this series is a must. Its one of the best.

Great final season from the start to the end ended sad but nice going out on a high for all the cast did a lot better job then vampire diaries which went on for to long with poor script righting in the last season well worth watching the originals

An insult to fans & the actors. Felt very cheap & poorly written.Terrible plot line.Just awful.So Very disappointed as I especially really enjoyed the other seasons (especially 1&2).

Arrive on time it the final in the series . It about werewolf and vampire and not forget witches.

Love this series . Shame it finished. Do sad but got my dvd collection.
