Oven MateMesh Filter Cleaner, Clear, 500 ml

Best product i’ve found for aluminium mesh filters. Used every 3 months for 5 years.Use as instructed and it leaves them clean right through and does not leave a chemical smell.Make sure you dry the mesh out re-installing.

Spray on to filters and watch the dirt and grease lift off. Just leave it on for about 15 minutes then rinse off in hot water. Absolutely brilliant stuff.

During lockdown I have neglected my cooker hood grills, I thought there was no point but they became embarrassing when we came out of lockdown and my neighbour popped in for a chat.This Oven Mate Mesh Filter Cleaner does work and I only had to clean them once but you actually have to clean both sides because it doesn't penetrate the underside of the grill, that's the equivalent of cleaning four filters. It took an hour and a half to clean and rinse them. Personally I think it's expensive, I had to use a whole bottle to do both sides of the filter grills.I used to soak my cooker hood grills in the bath with clothes washing detergent for an hour which works so I think I'll be going back to the cleaning them like I used to but that's personal choice. I used the product, following instructions, on the inside of my oven extractor and on the mesh filters. It worked beautifully, liquifying the grease and allowing me to just wipe it off. I had to do it multiple times on the filters and they're still not perfect, but they're much better.Unfortunately there is now a strong chemical smell in my apartment coming from the hood that's lasted for three weeks now. I've tried using soapy water and other cleaners to remove any residual product but it hasn't made a difference. The inside of the hood has small areas where the stuff may have dripped that I can't wipe. This is the extractor hood, not the oven, so I can't "burn off" the smell. It's quite overpowering so I can't really give this product anything higher than 5 stars - it cleans, but at the cost of a strong unpleasant smell I might never be able to get rid of!

I usually don't have the time to do more than add a star rating, but this was so good I have to post some images.My hood-filters have been greasy as long as I can remember. I've tried baking soda, grease-remover and scrubbing with a Brillo pad, even got my cleaner to soak and then try to scrub even harder (she has more arm power than I do).I then found this product while searching for 'replacement hood filters' having failed to get rid of the grease on them.The product doesn't have much of a smell, though the allergy warnings on the bottle meant I did wear gloves just in case. I used the spray to cover both sides of each filter with foam. Immediately on spraying I could see the yellow grease stains coming off. I left them in the sink for about 25 minutes (the instructions say 15 and another 15 if cleaning for the first time). I used most of one bottle for this. There's enough left for another clean I think.After rinsing, the filters are shiny, grease-free and work great! I'll be using this one on a regular basis to clean them.Thumbs up!

This is an excellent product for cutting through tough grease. I used it on hob filter trays which were caked in grease. They cut through it like a hot knife through butter.

OMG this stuff is amazing. Since we moved in 6 years ago I've tried all sorts of general cleaners to clean the grubby, greasy filters and scrubbed and scrubbed and they've looked no better. Over time they've slowly got worse and to be honest I'd kind of given up and just left them for the last couple of years, scowling at them in disgrace every day I see them. I was literally about to buy replacements when by accident I came across this. Annoying you have to buy 2 but they are reasonably priced when you factor in postage.I put one in the sink, squirted it fully with the stuff and left it for about an hour then just rinsed with warm water. Then repeated with the others. I was so amazed with the results I can't explain so for the first time ever I've posted a picture too. On 3 filters I probably used about two thirds of a bottle due to the state of them but would expect to use less another time.Amazing and would obviously recommend.
