Quick, Easy and Seamless to install with all my content library automatically transferred.
I'm 80 years and not a 'techie" - but I had this lovely new 16G Kindle open, registered and running with all 759 of my books transferred into my new Kindle automatically. I didn't even have to ask. I like the Matcha color, and I like the compact size to fit in pocket or purse. I use an eight point font, and have no problem with it fitting on the screen in aa useful and comfortable format. This Kindle basic replaced a 2014 Paperwhite with only 2.5G of memory, so I'm very happy with my 'downgrade' to 16G. Highly recommend this featherweight, darling little E-reader.

I READ A BOOK IN 4 DAYS! I haven't read a complete book in years until I bought this Kindle!
I've been trying to read books again for the last couple of years without much success. In 2025 (and probably 2024), I never finished a single book that I started. That includes self-help, college textbooks, and friend's books! Fumbling with books, turning pages, trying to remember to carry it with me, all of that made it difficult for a working adult with a family to sit down and read, even for a few minutes. Not to mention my arthritis, needing to wear reading glasses, needing a light just bright enough to make out the words, and more. I ordered this Kindle on New Years Day and fully expected to get bored of it in a week and want to get my money back. I downloaded my first book (Included in KindleUnlimited), by an author I never heard of (even though she's critically acclaimed and has had books turned into movies) and started reading. I was INCREDIBLY SURPRISED how easy it was to read on this thing. It's MUCH better than a physical book, by leaps and bounds. I started reading the book on Monday and finished it by Thursday. I can't wait to start my next book! The book was good... and that kept me interested, however... a few things about the kindle made it easy to finish the book so quickly... 1) Mainly, it was how easy on the eyes and the size of the text. I didn't need my reading glasses at all and the text was clearer than any book I've opened in the last few years. 2) It's lightweight and fits in my pocket! I like to (try to) read books of all different shapes and sizes; from large hard back to small and thin paperbacks. It doesn't matter the author's preferred format, this kindle puts them all in my pocket with ease! Plus, one-hand reading is easy, I don't have to "hold back" the other pages while fumbling from page to page. 3) The feel of the screen is smooth and it's easy to turn pages with the same hand I'm holding it in, but even better with a quick swipe of my other hand. 4) It's just the right amount of brightness with the backlight. I can read it without the backlight sometimes, but I prefer the backlight already and my eyes don't strain. It does drain the battery much faster, but I believe I could finish an entire book without having to charge it at all. Overall, this thing is amazing and I look forward to expanding my mind and READING on my spare time instead of playing mind-numbing games on my phone. I do love my card and board games, but they might have to take a backseat. Both my phone and this kindle fit in my pocket easily so if I want to take a break from reading spades and backgammon are always available...

Great Purchase!
The Paperwhite is lightweight and easy to hold, even for long reading sessions. It’s comfortable to use one-handed and slips easily into a bag. Compared to holding a physical book, this feels effortless. I enjoy the fact that there are not social media apps and other distractors because I stay on task and reading instead of scrolling mindlessly. The screen quality is glare-free, and I can read comfortably by adjusting the screen brightness. The battery life has been great for me. I read mostly at night, and it stays charged for weeks for me. So, overall, I highly recommend this Kindle. I have loved having it.

All the ways I love my Kindle
I love the size and color of this Kindle. It’s my first Kindle. The battery has a good charge to it. I can read for longer periods and only need to charge it a couple times a week. I love the screen quality and the feel of the screen. I have it in a case and it just floats around in my purse, so it’s pretty durable. I love that I can store all the books I can buy in one place and it always stays the same weight, I know that’s stupid. But books weigh a lot and take up quite a bit of room. You can rent books with your library apps. The light for reading in dark environments is great. I love the color. A little pop of color is an easy to make me smile. You will love this Kindle though all your reading adventures. There is also a reading rewards program where you can get $3 off your next purchase. Great recommendations. Don’t hesitate, you will love this device.

Perfect for the readers
I love it! Good size while being small enough to take everywhere and comfy to hold and big enough to read easily on it. The ability to change brightness and switch between dark and light mode is great for night vs day reading. Its ease enough to use and worth the cost I paid. It is super sturdy. I say this after having it for a while and knowing my toddlers have messed with it and dropped it a few times.

Perfect for the price
The size is perfect; it was actually the deciding factor in getting this over the Kindle Paperwhite. The text is fantastic. I haven't viewed a book on a Paperwhite, but there's nothing I can say I would do to improve the screen. There's a "dark mode" that allows for a black background with white text. In "light mode", you can adjust the brightness from an almost grey background to a bright white/blue. You can also adjust the brightness in "dark mode," but it's not as noticable. It's not waterproof. So? I will never have this anywhere near water. My ONLY complaint is there is a bit of a lag when scrolling through your library. There's no noticable lag when changing pages while reading a book. If able, I'd have given it 4.5 stars. I can't imagine the additional $70 for the Paperwhite would be worth it, and like I said, I prefer the smaller size. The battery life is great. I've had it in for approximately 10 hours, and it's used 18%. Charging it every 3-4 days is not a problem at all.
