Great for experimentation & temporary use
Review for XHF Compact Lever Connectors/ NutsI opted for the multi-color kit. I'm always having to mock up a test circuit or temporary circuit, and the various colors make it easy to track. I like that these splice blocks can be coupled together to make a neat row if desired. I've got a smaller set of clear ones from a different manufacturer, and I do like that feature for ensuring that the wire is seated all the way down into the clamping range. There is a strip-length gauge on the bottom. (The recessed notch is the strip length.) Even with 12 gauge wire, it's pretty simple to see far enough into the insertion hole to be certain you're inserted far enough. I didn't have any 28 gauge wire to test with these (the lower end of the range specified in the title), but they clamp firmly on 22 gauge to 12 gauge. I was somewhat worried because the small markings on the bottom seem to indicate a wire gauge range from around 24 gauge to 13 gauge, (given in European mm2 sizes) but the larger 12 AWG had no issues. I do see a CE (European) certification mark on these, but no evidence of a UL mark-- so use your own judgement about the wisdom of using these as permanent household wiring.I do a lot of work testing audio electronics, both for fun & work: seems like I'm always having to mock up a test circuit, or some temporary wiring. I have an entire box full of 5' cables with varying terminations on each end, and it still seems like I don't have, or can't find, the one I need. I'm going to reduce my bulk by just building these test cables as (X) connector to bare wire, and then splice to the other end I need.

Few bad connectors
About half way through the set and all in all great product… found a few bad connectors but that’s semi expected. Super easy to use and speed up the process tremendously. Size and quick installation make them a massive help

My favorite type of wire “nut”
If I have a choice (sometimes I don’t) while working on an electrical project between a conventional wire nut or one of these lever style ones, I will pick pick the lever every single time. I really love this type of connector. It is so much easier to use in my opinion. This particular set has some nice features. First, the clear, hard side plastic case is surprisingly tough. With strong hinges and latches on all three of the other sides, it is also very secure. I really don’t see this popping open very easily, like many other similar boxes I’ve seen. After all, using all the connectors on your first project is not very likely. It is quite refreshing to see a manufacturer who cares about the continued user experience after the sale.Another great feature about the set I ordered is that the variety of red and black color coded connectors can be super handy when you are forced to use the same color of wire on a project. This way you have the quick and easy ability to mark polarity until you get the opportunity to swap them out later. The connectors themselves are very solid and durable. The levers are relatively easy to operate. It does take a little pressure overcome the resistance, but at the same time, the tension shows how tight the connection is. Once the stripped wire is inserted and the lever locked down, you can pull the wire against the connector without worry of slippage. One thing to note here is that sometimes the lever takes a little squeeze to get it fully engaged and locked down.All-in-all, I think this is a great little kit that, for sure, will be living with my regular electrical tools.

Quality Connectors
I have been using these for my low-voltage LED lighting projects (5V, 12V and 24V) and they are working out great for me.The connector levers have a strong spring action. I recommend using your finger tip (not your fingernail) to open them as the spring is strong enough to injure a fingernail if you're not careful. The snapback action is also quite powerful, so keep those fingers away from the lever when closing or you could suffer a bruise. These connectors will hold securely onto the smallest of solid or stranded wires (I've gone down as far as 22AWG with them).Good quality plastic bodies. Plastic seems industrial grade, NOT cheap plastic.Single channel connectors allow for versatility in your hookups so you don't use more material (2, 3, 4 wire connectors) than you need, saving space in your electrical junction box and being eco friendly as well. You can gang an infinite number of connectors together. This is achieved by sliding the tabs that protrude from the side of one connector into the slots on the body of a second connector. The ganging connection works smoothly and is secure. Use a little cyanoacrylate glue for a more permanent connection if needed.Would not hesitate to purchase again.
