Jonathan James and the Whatif Monster

Great book for kids
I received this book for work (United Through Reading) and enjoyed it so much, I bought a copy for my kids. I love recommending this book to families. I describe it as starting out like a kid doubting their abilities- what if I strike out? What if no one wants to be my friend? And ends with what parents might say, but coming from Jonathan James- what if you hit a home run? What if you become best friends? I like reading it with my boys and was happy when my son quoted it, after asking me a what if question, choosing to see the good that could come from his decision.

A great read for anxious children
This book really helped my child accept starting the first grade with excitement instead of anxiety. The book is very good at showing both sides to the what if question and was written in a way that a child can fully comprehend. I enjoyed reading it with my children.

Strong recommendation; inaccurate description of book condition
Condition not really accurate. Ripped page repaired with masking tape isn't "very good" condition. Names written in front and back pages in large, neat letters is fine and not surprising in a used book. Book itself came highly recommended by several parents for dealing with anxiety in kids.

Great reminder for adults
This is a book from my childhood that I had forgot about until I had kids. I bought a copy to keep at work because the moral in this story still applies to adulthood. Sometimes teams end up paralyzed thinking too much about everything that COULD happen that they refuse to do anything. This is an excellent reminder that sometimes you have to take chances.

Super cute book, great for kids of all ages!
This is a fantastic story for kids of all ages. What if its scary or not fun, what if others make fun of me. What if its not scary at all, what if its the most fun ever, what if I make new friends.

Easy and fun way to understand fear.
Very cute book that explains the 'what if' game that our brain plays. My 8 yr old son and my teenagers love this book. Gosh it motivates me!!
