Still figuring out if it's working out for me
have a crappy spring mattress and it stating to sag so thought i dive into memory foam mattresses. somehow all the research i did i stumbled on airwweave. I was about to pull the trigger on the regular mattress but then found a deal for this Cal King futon with Sharpdeals. I really thought I needed a firm mattress and this was rated 9/10 on most review sites (for their mattress version).weight33 pounds cal king size.. delivers to you in a LARGE rectangle box (pretty much the length of the cal king, just folded in 3). It was at that moment I realized washing and airdrying it wouldn't be as easy compared to a twin or full sized futon (but saving a few hundred opting for the large one trumped that decision). Although it's slightly heavy, it's a lot lighter than a memory foam mattress, and also more freedom to move around.Space:coming from a twin size mattress i can roll around for days on this futon fully flat (and I only have like 4/5 of it open!).I keep it folded in thirds, and i've fallen asleep in its folded form one time. when mattress shopping i was only planning to get a full or queen. Two sided mattress: (cool and warm side)It's summer time, and the cool side definitely feels breathable and doesn't trap heat like my spring mattress did.The warm side does feel like it could hold heat better and it's quite soft like velvet microfiber.comfort: VERY FIRMSo firm, the first week or two i woke up with a sore back. (to be expected in some cases due to readjusting to new bed). First few days i've never laid so flat my knees felt like they were hyperextended stretch due to the heels not sinking into the mattress. also my arms went slightly numb due to how flat i was. This was all as a back sleeper. i don't sleep on my side or stomach but both those positions were actually comfortable. It's been at least 3 weeks now and i want to say i'm almost fully adjusted to the mattress. I normally sleep in late, but i've been noticing i wake up a few hours earlier than normal. I don't wake up tired and groggy either, and I wouldn't say i am fully refreshed and energized, just awake. Is it my body telling me it can't stand this mattress or is it telling me this bed is giving my body enough optimal rest? I'll have to update this in a few months when this review really matters. lets say i bought this in 7-2018.noise:it doesn't really make a lot of noise, it's kind of like a bunch of fishing line bunched up together so i guess it makes that noise.warranty and longevity and return policyi don't know what warranty this will have not buying direct from airweave. The only thing I can see going wrong is indentation crease where the futon is folded. After a few weeks I can feel the crease is when i like flat on it. Works out for me because it helps give me a little sink into the mattress to help my arms. The futon isn't warrantied for 15 years like the mattress but i think 3 years (probably because of the potential constant folding)i forget what sharpprices return policy is but airweave has 100 day trial like other memory foam mattresses. if i don't adjust to the bed, i don't plan on returning mine. I think airweave says it takes up to 30 days to adjust to a new mattress. I just checked when the futon arrived and tomorrow will be exactly 4 weeks, so the adjustment period suggested is pretty accurate. I bought from a less expensive seller so i lose out on the 100 night trial. if you need 100 nights trial because you aren't sure very firm bed is for you, i'd prob go direct.UPDATE #1: After about 2 months using this futon, I still have mixed feelings on whether this is a good mattress or not. I notice I am able to sleep late, and wake up early with no grogginess. This is without an alarm clock. Furthermore, I have slight back soreness walking up as well, which goes away. If you are considering this futon, make sure you are comfortable sleeping on an EXTRA firm bed or surface. But for me, the futon does not retain heat like my spring mattress. Also, waking ready to go is worth it for me, even though if it results with slight soreness. Hopefully it isn't an issue that will lead to something more serious. I guess I'll have to find out..
